Ninh Thuan tourism finishes early

In the first nine months of 2024, the total number of tourists and vacationers in the province exceeded 3.2 million, an increase of 20% compared to the same period last year, reaching 100.1% of the plan; of which, the number of overnight stays was estimated at 2.3 million, and the number of sightseeing visitors was estimated at 904,000; international visitors were estimated at 87,000, an increase of 193.9% compared to the same period last year, reaching 87% of the 2024 plan. Social income from tourism activities is estimated at 3,662 billion VND, with the tourism sector achieving its 2024 plan three months ahead of schedule.

In line with the policy of developing tourism into a key economic sector, since the beginning of 2024, Ninh Thuan's tourism industry has coordinated and organized many cultural, sports, and tourism activities, attracting the attention of tourists. The province has implemented many promotional and tourism development activities and organized large-scale events that attract many tourists, such as: the Ninh Thuan Food Festival - Welcoming the New Year 2024; the opening of a pedestrian street in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City; the Ninh Thuan Food Festival... attracting the attention of domestic and international tourists, while stimulating domestic tourism demand, contributing to the development of the tourism industry; creating opportunities for provincial businesses to introduce tourism products and promotional activities to people and tourists.

State management of tourism service businesses has been strengthened. The tourism industry has made many efforts to recover its operations, and the tourism product system has been continuously renewed and innovated, creating more diverse products to increase attractiveness and competitiveness. Many new destinations have been invested in, and the technical infrastructure and facilities serving tourism have been improved; tourism businesses in the province have invested in and upgraded tourist attractions to serve visitors. This has created many interesting experiences for tourists, spreading the image of Ninh Thuan tourism and attracting visitors. At the same time, businesses have implemented many new and attractive tourism product packages, along with appropriate discount programs to stimulate tourism, attracting a large number of tourists from the Southern and Central Highlands regions to visit and relax in the province, especially during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year). The provincial tourism sector has also actively implemented the application of information technology and digital transformation in tourism development activities according to the province's overall plan, such as: building a digital tourism information system, a free Wi-Fi and kiosk system at some key tourist areas and attractions, and a virtual tour guide system to support tourists; strengthening transportation capacity to key tourist areas of the province; and investing significantly in technical infrastructure, especially tourist accommodation facilities, to meet the needs of domestic and international tourists. In addition, tourism promotion and marketing have been emphasized and intensified. Besides promoting local investment, the province is focusing on attracting international tourists, especially from South Korea, China, and India. The province has organized many promotional events and connections with tourism associations in South Korea, China, and India, resulting in the formation of tour routes bringing international tourists to Ninh Thuan.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu, Chairman of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Tourism Association, shared: "The successful organization of many attractive events and diverse tourism products, linked to exploiting the potential and strengths to create a distinctive mark for the localities, has contributed to a strong breakthrough for the tourism industry. Along with that, investment in tourism infrastructure has been prioritized, especially the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway, which has become a driving force boosting tourism demand from people in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern and Central Highlands provinces, creating a boost for Ninh Thuan's tourism development."

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu, the fourth quarter of 2024 is the peak season for international tourists, and Ninh Thuan expects to welcome a large number of visitors for winter holidays. Currently, tourism businesses are focusing on promoting the image and brand of Ninh Thuan tourism to the outside world, highlighting its strengths in beach resorts, water sports and entertainment, sand dunes, etc. Combined with activities such as the Katê Festival, the 6th Cham Ethnic Culture Festival in Ninh Thuan province in 2024, and other events, Ninh Thuan tourism expects to welcome a "wave" of domestic and international tourists to visit and relax in the province.

Comrade Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: To create favorable momentum for 2025, in the remaining months of 2024, in addition to general tasks, the department will continue to advise and coordinate with the Vietnam National Tourism Administration to organize a workshop on promoting the value of Cham cultural heritage associated with tourism development; submit to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee a preliminary report on the 4-year implementation of Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU dated August 31, 2021 on developing tourism in Ninh Thuan province into a key economic sector in the period 2021-2025 and with a vision to 2030; coordinate with the Provincial Culinary Association to organize the Ninh Thuan Culinary Festival - Welcoming the New Year 2025. In coordination with localities and units of the province, we will continue to promote and advertise destinations, focusing on building unique tourism products and improving service quality. Furthermore, the plan involves developing a new and diverse range of tourism products, based on effectively exploiting the potential and advantages of nature, culture, and history that reflect the national identity, connecting tourism spaces, and creating unique experiences that suit the tastes of domestic and international tourists. It also includes continuing to promote communication through channels such as newspapers, online portals, social media, and cultural, sports, and tourism events both within and outside the province... to introduce and promote the image of Ninh Thuan's homeland, people, and scenic attractions to domestic and international tourists. Simultaneously, it aims to proactively address difficulties and obstacles in tourism investment and business activities, creating favorable conditions for tourism enterprises to develop.
