In particular, the race to use AI-powered cameras that allow anyone to take photos as beautiful as a professional photographer is a feature that smartphone users utilize most often during the Lunar New Year season.

Joining the crowds taking Tet photos around the Youth Cultural Center (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), Khanh Huyen and her group of friends (District 4) happily took pictures of each other with their smartphones.

"Previously, we always had to hire photographers or ask someone with professional cameras to come along and take pictures, which was quite inconvenient. Now we can take pictures freely in all kinds of styles, completely according to our preferences, with just a smartphone in our hands," Huyen said.

According to Huyen, one of the features she and her friends love most about the new smartphone is the built-in AI-powered photography feature.

"I just choose the right angle and scenery, press the shutter button, and the phone automatically selects and adjusts to produce the best possible photo. It's amazing!", Huyen excitedly shared.

Not only ordinary users, but even those who are experienced in using technology products are extremely delighted.

"The experience of taking photos on a smartphone with AI support is truly amazing. For example, in the past, when taking photos, we had to carefully time our shots to avoid including strangers in the frame."

"But now, with the help of AI, the mindset for taking photos is much more relaxed. If a stranger accidentally appears in the frame, you can simply use AI to remove them and get a beautiful photo," commented Phan Quoc, representative of GenZ Vietnam, a channel specializing in reviewing technology products.

According to Tuoi Tre 's research, many smartphone models on the market now have cameras equipped with numerous interesting AI-powered features for users to experience.

For example, the iPhone 16 product line is equipped with Apple Intelligence, featuring intelligent subject removal that allows AI to identify unwanted secondary objects in a photo and naturally remove them without altering the main subject of the image.

For example, Oppo's Find X8 product line applies AI-generated modeling to help users capture clear images of subjects even at maximum magnification of up to 120X.

AI technology is used to significantly enhance image resolution, detail, color, or image reconstruction at the pixel level, ensuring that images maintain clarity even at high magnifications.

Xiaomi also offers the Redmi Note 14 Pro, equipped with a range of AI camera features such as AI Image Expansion, which expands the background to create more striking photos; AI Erase Pro, which allows users to quickly remove unwanted objects; and AI Sky, which can be used to change the background of images.

Not only the camera, but many other features on recently launched smartphones are also equipped with AI capabilities to help users use their phones more easily and intelligently.

For example, Honor's recently launched X9c product line features Magic Capsule, allowing users to multitask through a floating interface – from replying to messages and checking calendars to adjusting music – without having to exit the application.

Another feature, Parallel Space, helps create independent spaces on the same device, allowing for secure and effective separation of work and personal life.

Furthermore, this product line integrates Vietnamese AI tools that allow the phone to summarize content directly on the phone; an AI note-taking assistant to format and edit content to suit the context; and an upgraded AI toolbox that allows integration of intelligent voice translation tools, AI auto-answering, and more.

The iPhone 16 product line is equipped with Apple's Visual Intelligence engine, which uses AI to recognize objects in real time and provide live information about those objects. For example, when you point the camera at a restaurant, Visual Intelligence will automatically display information about its opening hours, reviews, or menu.

This is a major step forward in integrating AR (augmented reality) technology with AI, enabling users to receive useful information quickly.

Speaking to Tuổi Trẻ newspaper, Ms. Ánh Hồng, marketing director of the 24hStore retail chain, commented: "Users are now very sensitive to new features, especially those that improve their smartphone experience."

According to Ms. Hong, AI is not just a technological trend but also a real tool to support many aspects of daily life. Features such as photo editing, quick document summarization, real-time call translation, notification prioritization, etc., all bring practical value, helping users save time and effort.

"As AI becomes more widespread, users are beginning to view AI features as a necessary standard on modern smartphones. Features such as intelligent virtual assistants, natural language search, and image creation support will become fundamental elements that any device needs to have to remain competitive in the market," Ms. Hong stated.

AI contributes to protecting users' health.

In addition to enhancing intelligence and optimizing phone usage, AI also helps protect users' health when using smartphones.

For example, the Honor Magic V3 foldable smartphone incorporates AI Defocus Eye Protection technology, which helps reduce concerns about nearsightedness caused by prolonged screen use.

Specifically, this technology uses AI to simulate the effect of corrective lenses on the screen to create a slight blurring in the peripheral vision area, helping the eyes relax and reducing the risk of myopia.
