Responding to the movement launched by the Women's Union of Bao Ha commune, many villages in the commune have implemented a model of planting flowers and trees along rural roads.
In Bun 2 village, the Women's Association is the core force in planting and caring for flowerbeds along Provincial Road 161 that runs through the village, as well as the main village roads and the entrance to the cultural center. Flowers such as bougainvillea, lantana, and roses, combined with greenery, are chosen to create a green, clean, and beautiful landscape.

In addition to planting flowers, the members also take turns caring for them regularly; households living along the road also proactively water, prune, and weed, keeping the village road clean and beautiful.
Ms. Pham Thu Hien, Head of the Women's Association in Bun 2 village, said: "Every month, the association organizes general cleaning sessions of village roads and alleys, and also takes care of flowers and trees along the roads. The flower-lined roads are neatly trimmed and fertilized regularly to ensure the plants grow well."
For households living close to Provincial Road 161, the local association regularly disseminates information and encourages families to proactively clean their homes and maintain the cleanliness of the roads near their residences. This ensures a clean environment for the entire village while creating a clean, beautiful, and well-maintained living space for each family.

Thanks to this collective movement, people's awareness of environmental hygiene has been increasingly enhanced. Many households consider caring for flower-lined streets and cleaning alleyways as a regular activity, integrated into their daily lives.
Ms. Luong Thi Len, a resident of Bun 2 village, shared: "My family regularly sweeps and takes care of the flowerbeds in front of our house; we water them daily and prune diseased branches and leaves so that the plants grow healthy and the flowers bloom beautifully."
The model of rural flower-lined roads is not only implemented effectively in Bun 2 village, but also in many other villages in the commune. In Hong Cam village, both sides of the concrete road are covered with rows of flowers and trees, creating a bright, green, clean, and beautiful landscape. Every month, the villagers maintain a regular cleaning schedule for the village roads and alleys, combined with weeding and caring for flowers along the main village roads and around the cultural center.

Many roads in Hong Cam village are lined with purple morning glory flowers, an easy-to-grow and easy-to-care-for species with long-lasting, beautiful colors. During the flowering season, both sides of the road are covered in purple, creating a vibrant landscape; when the flowering season ends, the rows of trees remain as a green strip, contributing to the beauty of the rural roads.
In addition, the village unanimously maintains a communal cleaning day on the 20th of every month; each household dedicates about 10 minutes to cleaning from inside their house to the alleyway, combined with tending to the flowerbeds along the road. Thanks to this regular maintenance, the village roads and alleyways are always clean, and the people are increasingly raising their awareness and responsibility in preserving the landscape.

Mr. Pham Van Phuong, head of Hong Cam village, shared: “The village selected easy-to-grow and easy-to-care-for flowers and trees and assigned each group of households to be responsible for them. Working together, the preservation of the landscape is maintained regularly.”
Thanks to the active participation of the people, Hong Cam village won first prize in the "Bright, Green, Clean, and Beautiful New Rural Village" competition organized by the local authorities for two consecutive years. In addition, the village mobilized hundreds of millions of VND from social contributions to renovate the cultural center and plant flowers along the roadsides; 100% of households have built fences or green hedges; and household waste sorting and treatment are strictly implemented.
Under the close guidance of the Party Committee and the People's Committee of Bao Ha commune, along with the consensus and joint efforts of the people, the National Target Program for building new rural areas in Bao Ha commune has achieved many positive results. To date, the locality has completed 17 out of 19 criteria; 30 out of 72 villages in the commune have met the standards for new rural areas, and the rural landscape is increasingly improving.
