The Me Pu - Da Kai road, connecting to National Highway 20, is being constructed rapidly and is expected to be open to traffic along the entire route before the Lunar New Year, several months ahead of schedule.

After its opening, this will be the shortest route for people in Duc Linh and Tanh Linh districts (Binh Thuan province) to travel to Tan Phu district ( Dong Nai province), and from National Highway 20 to Da Huoai district (Lam Dong province).

In early December, from the intersection of Provincial Road 717 (Da Kai commune) to the end of the route, many sections had been completely paved with asphalt.

According to our reporter's observations, at the construction sites of the Da Kai 1 and Da Kai 2 bridges, many groups of workers are busily completing the upper structure of the bridges. Rollers and dump trucks are busy transporting construction materials for the approach roads at both ends of the bridges.

Engineer Ngo Xuan Hung, a technical officer, said that with the dry weather, the construction teams are accelerating their work to reach the finish line as soon as possible.

Currently, the abutments and piers of the Da Kai 2 bridge have been completed. It is expected that the bridge girders will be launched and the completion of the bridge and approach roads will begin by mid-December.

"The construction teams are working continuously with a 3-shift, 4-team system to ensure the entire route is connected by the beginning of January 2025."

"People can travel more easily, and workers can also return to their hometowns in time to celebrate Tet with their families after being away for many days," engineer Hung said.

Construction workers are building the Da Kai 2 bridge across Duc Linh district ( Binh Thuan province ).

According to Mr. Tran Van Tan, the project manager (Viet Hoa Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company - the contractor), the unit has paved nearly 13.5 out of 14.5 km of the road surface up to the border with Dong Nai province.

The signage and drainage systems have been completed; approximately 1km of the project, including two bridges and access roads, is currently under construction.

"The contractor is mobilizing maximum manpower to complete the construction and open the road to traffic. The entire route is expected to be open to traffic by mid-January 2025, several months ahead of the contract schedule," engineer Tan said.

The road connecting Binh Thuan and Dong Nai provinces has been upgraded and expanded, facilitating travel and trade for the people.

According to the Binh Thuan Provincial Project Management Board for Transportation Works (the investor), the project commenced in late November 2023. To date, the construction volume has reached approximately 96%.

According to the investor's representative, the project's advantage lies in the rapid land clearance process and the unanimous support of residents along the road in handing over their land.

Therefore, after the groundbreaking ceremony, the contractor has a clean site to start construction immediately, allowing them to proactively manage the construction time and schedule.

"According to the plan, the project will be completed and officially put into operation in April 2025, 7 months ahead of schedule compared to the signed contract," said the investor's representative.

The project to upgrade and expand the Me Pu - Da Kai road has a length of approximately 14.5km. The roadbed width is 9m, the road surface width is 8m, and the shoulder width on each side is 0.5m.

The project involves the renovation of two reinforced concrete bridges: Da Kai 1 at Km 7+700 and Da Kai 2 at Km 8+510, both with a width of 12m. The total investment is over 132 billion VND.

The contract is scheduled for completion by the end of November 2025.
