Nhon urban railway

The Nhon - Hanoi Station urban railway line has met all requirements and is recommended for commercial operation starting August 9th.

The State Council for Inspection of Construction Project Acceptance has approved the conditional acceptance results and agreed to put the elevated line, Nhon - Hanoi Station section (the Project), into commercial operation.

The State Council for Inspection and Acceptance of Construction Projects (the Council) conducted a site inspection and held a meeting to evaluate the results of the final acceptance of the elevated line project, Nhon - Hanoi Station section, on the afternoon of August 2nd.

Accordingly, the construction packages for the elevated section of the Project have been completed in accordance with design requirements, quality management and final acceptance have been carried out in accordance with regulations, and system operation and trial exploitation have met technical conditions and project contract requirements. Procedures related to fire safety, environmental protection, and system safety have been completed and approved by the competent State authorities.

The Nhon - Hanoi Station urban railway line is now ready for commercial operation.

Since the project's implementation, the Standing Committee of the Council has conducted 21 site inspections, checking quality management, construction documents, and acceptance of project components, including 6 inspections since the beginning of 2024.

Based on the results of the site inspection, the report from the investor (Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board) and relevant parties, the Standing Committee of the Council, and the opinions of the Council members, it is concluded that the elevated section of the Project basically meets the conditions for the Council to consider approving the investor's acceptance results.

The Standing Committee of the Council noted that, before putting the project into operation, the investor needs to require contractors and relevant parties to conduct a thorough review of all auxiliary systems and equipment serving operation and exploitation to ensure readiness, normal operation, and safety during operation and exploitation; and to carry out industrial cleaning of the entire elevated section before handing it over to Hanoi Railway Company Limited.

In addition, the Council requested the Hanoi People's Committee to direct the Hanoi Railway Company Limited to coordinate with the investor in receiving and handing over the project to ensure its readiness for operation, to review the preparation of personnel for train operation, and to carry out operation and exploitation in accordance with the approved operating procedures and train schedules.

On behalf of the Council, Deputy Minister of Construction Bui Xuan Dung - Standing Vice Chairman of the Council - concluded and approved the conditional acceptance of the elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi Station railway project. The Hanoi People's Committee will decide on the date for putting the project into operation after addressing the Council's feedback, ensuring the project meets operational and safety requirements.

When officially put into operation, the pilot urban railway line in Hanoi, the Nhon - Hanoi Station section, will provide a modern, safe, fast, and environmentally friendly public transportation option. The line will help people save time and travel costs, while connecting urban areas and facilitating green and sustainable socio -economic development.

Proposal to begin operation of the Nhon - Hanoi Station urban railway line from August 9th.

MRB has also proposed to the Hanoi People's Committee to allow the commercial operation of the Nhon-Hanoi Station urban railway line from August 9th.

Accordingly, the Hanoi Urban Railway Project Management Board has requested the Hanoi People's Committee to consider and assign tasks to relevant agencies and units.

Specifically, the Hanoi Department of Transport directed traffic inspectors to coordinate with traffic police and other relevant units to agree on a traffic diversion plan to ensure smooth traffic flow during the site preparation period (August 7-8) and during the commercial operation ceremony (August 9).

The Hanoi Department of Transport has a plan to guide vehicles in the area where the commercial operation ceremony is held, coordinating with the People's Committees of the relevant districts to arrange the site, organize parking spaces, and guide vehicles entering and exiting the area to ensure safety and convenience.

The People's Committees of Bac Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Ba Dinh, and Dong Da districts organized environmental sanitation, preventing people from dumping garbage and waste materials on the sidewalks along both sides of the road, ensuring traffic safety and public order; and implemented decorations to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi in the train station area...

The completion and commissioning of the elevated section of the urban railway line is a momentous event, marking a new milestone in the development of Hanoi's public transportation system.

The pilot urban railway line in Hanoi, the Nhon - Hanoi Station section, has a main line length of 12.5km (8.5km elevated section and approximately 4.0km underground section) with the following route: starting point Nhon - along National Highway 32 - Cau Dien - Mai Dich - intersection with Ring Road 3 - Cau Giay (intersection with Ring Road 2) - Kim Ma - Cat Linh - Quoc Tu Giam - ending point Hanoi Station (on Tran Hung Dao Street, in front of Hanoi Station).
Double gauge railway (1,435mm): European standard UIC 60 rails/switches or equivalent; station system includes 8 elevated stations (stations S1 to S8), 4 underground stations (stations S9 to S12), including 2 connecting transfer stations; Transport vehicles: Locomotives and carriages are selected as "medium" size - Type B (European standard) with a width of 2.7m; train length 78.3m (4 carriages); Depot: area of ​​15.05ha, located in Tay Tuu and Minh Khai wards, Bac Tu Liem district.
