In December 2023, the project was completed and put into operation, contributing to the improvement of transportation infrastructure and promoting socio -economic development in Ca Mau province in the near future.

According to Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the completed project, once put into operation, will help alleviate congestion on National Highway 1 passing through the center of Ca Mau city, reducing traffic jams and minimizing traffic accidents.

"At the same time, the project creates connections with the Ca Mau City Ring Road 3 and the Southern Coastal Corridor, aiming to gradually complete the transportation network according to the local plan. Immediately after its commissioning, people living around this area were very excited," Mr. Viet emphasized.

Ms. Kieu Thi Nghi, residing in Nam Dam hamlet, Luong The Tran commune, Cai Nuoc district, Ca Mau province, expressed: "The completed road provides a very smooth ride. "To minimize traffic accidents, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee is strengthening traffic safety awareness campaigns and has issued a plan to coordinate with media outlets to regularly provide information on traffic conditions on roads, especially key routes, so that road users can make informed choices when traveling, avoiding the concentration of too many vehicles at one time causing congestion," Mr. Bang added.

According to Mr. Bang, the police force has also planned to launch a peak period of patrols and inspections to promptly detect and handle violations of traffic safety regulations.

Specifically, the focus will be on controlling violations that are common causes of traffic accidents, such as drunk driving, speeding, road construction, lane violations, and not wearing helmets while participating in traffic during the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Dragon 2024.
