Maintain resources to support development.

To help its members and women develop their economic resources, the Provincial Women's Union supported the Thieu Tien Commune Women's Union in establishing a chicken farming cooperative in Thanh Bao village. The cooperative members are all experienced and enthusiastic participants, aiming to develop the supported breeding stock effectively to further expand the flock and increase income for many members. This model is built on a product value chain, ensuring food safety.

Thanks to the breeding stock provided by the Provincial Women's Union, members of the chicken farming cooperative in Thanh Bao village have been able to take good care of their flocks and develop them rapidly.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen, a member of the chicken farming cooperative, shared: “My family received support in the form of 200 chickens. We raised them for about 3 months before selling them, each weighing between 3kg and 3.5kg. I cared for them according to the instructions of the veterinary officers. The provided feed was sufficient for the rearing period, after which I bought additional feed and disease prevention medicine, so the survival rate of the chickens reached 95% of the total flock.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi, a member of the Thanh Bao village chicken farming cooperative, said: "I received support from the Provincial Women's Union in terms of breeding stock and farming techniques; the cooperative connected me with suppliers of feed and veterinary medicine at lower prices than the market, thus reducing costs. I also bought ducks and geese to raise in combination. Currently, my family has 3 chicken coops, with a survival rate of 98%. I have sold my chickens and made a profit. The women in the cooperative have connected with buyers, taking turns selling, ensuring a stable market, so every household has a source of income and continues to restock their flocks in accordance with the directives of the higher-level women's union."

The Women-Owned Chicken Farming Cooperative in Thanh Bao village has attracted 20 members. Members received support in the form of 4,000 chicks and some initial feed, totaling over 100 million VND. Members also contributed to the cooperative's operating fund and committed to maintaining the model effectively. Throughout the farming process, the cooperative closely monitored its members, providing guidance on scientific farming and care methods, as well as disease prevention, resulting in a high survival rate and rapid growth. Previously, households often purchased feed and chicks in small quantities at high costs, with each household buying from different sources, making it difficult to control the quality of the chicks and prevent disease outbreaks. After joining the cooperative, members are connected to suppliers at wholesale prices, ensuring a stable market outlet, and strict veterinary practices guarantee a consistent supply of chickens to the market.

This is the support method implemented by the Provincial Women's Union in recent years, aiming to support and provide initial capital for members, guiding them towards safe and hygienic food production, and fostering sustainable development through linkages. With this approach, from the beginning of 2026 to the present, the Provincial Women's Union has supported the establishment and provided seeds and supplies to 4 cooperative groups.

The Provincial Women's Union handed over breeding stock to members of the chicken farming cooperative in Thanh Bao village.

Ms. Tran Thi Hue, deputy head of the cooperative, further shared: “Previously, the women raised chickens on a small scale, with each household independently selling their own products, which often led to price manipulation by traders and the risk of disease outbreaks, resulting in low economic value. Joining the cooperative, we have a stable market, taking turns selling our chickens and staggered batches to ensure the cooperative always has broiler chickens for sale, rather than all being sold at once. We take advantage of the capital support from the Provincial Women's Union to expand our family's farming scale. The cooperative members operate on the principle that for the first batch of chickens, households sell about 70% for meat, keeping 30% for restocking, further breeding, and revolving capital.”

The establishment of cooperatives and the stimulus support from the Provincial Women's Union have contributed to strengthening the bond between members and women with the organization, while affirming the role of the Union in accompanying and supporting women's economic development and creating jobs for rural women. The Thiệu Tiến Commune Women's Union will continue to direct the maintenance and development of cooperatives, expanding membership to support each other in efficient production and building a market for goods. This is one of the effective ways to help women develop economically that the Provincial Women's Union and local unions are focusing on.
