Maintaining consistent charitable and humanitarian activities.

In addition to government policies, in recent times, the poor, near-poor, people with disabilities, victims of Agent Orange, and people facing unexpected difficulties in the former Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces have also received support from community resources. This is much-needed assistance to help those in unfortunate circumstances overcome difficulties in life.

From July 1st, following the merger of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces, the mobilization and distribution of resources will not be interrupted, but will continue uninterrupted to support the less fortunate.

Providing assistance to nearly 7,000 humanitarian causes.

Implementing the "Each organization, each individual linked to a humanitarian cause" campaign, the Red Cross and the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin at all levels in Dong Nai province (new) have maintained the mobilization of over 5,000 collectives and individuals to provide monthly assistance to nearly 7,000 particularly disadvantaged addresses. Of these, nearly 4,700 are in the former Dong Nai province and over 2,200 are in the former Binh Phuoc province, receiving monthly humanitarian assistance.

Depending on their capacity and the number of people needing assistance, each Red Cross branch and Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims Association at the commune, ward, and provincial levels provides monthly support with varying material values for each case. Currently, Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims Associations at all levels are providing monthly support to nearly 1,000 cases. Each family receives 500,000 VND or more per month. In addition, during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year), the groups and individuals providing monthly assistance also donate additional gifts of food and supplies to those in need.

Mr. Quang Thai (a victim of Agent Orange residing in Tran Bien ward, Dong Nai province) said that over the years, he has received monthly financial and gift support from benefactors through the Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims of Dong Nai province (formerly). His mother works as a domestic helper. He is paralyzed in both legs and has very weak arms, making it difficult for him to find work. Therefore, the monthly assistance has been a great help to his and his mother's lives.

According to Mai Van Nho, Chairman of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Dong Nai (formerly) province, most families with members who are victims of Agent Orange are living in very difficult circumstances. Therefore, maintaining monthly assistance for these families is a priority for the Agent Orange/Dioxin victims' associations at all levels in the province. To do this well, in addition to proactively seeking community resources, reviewing the list of Agent Orange victim families to ensure no family in need of assistance is overlooked will be emphasized, especially as communes and wards are being merged.

According to statistics from the Dong Nai Provincial Red Cross Society (new), in implementing the "Each Organization, Each Individual Linked to a Humanitarian Cause" campaign, the entire province has over 4,000 collectives and individuals, including political and social organizations, departments, agencies, associations, philanthropists inside and outside the province, and Vietnamese people abroad, providing assistance to nearly 5,700 particularly disadvantaged addresses. Of these, the former Dong Nai Provincial Red Cross Society has supported nearly 3,500 particularly disadvantaged addresses, and the former Binh Phuoc Provincial Red Cross Society has supported over 2,200 humanitarian addresses. The total value mobilized to assist these addresses is nearly 10 billion VND per quarter. These humanitarian addresses are also prioritized whenever Red Cross societies at all levels organize gift-giving events during holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), and the annual Humanitarian Month.

According to Nguyen Phu Cuong, former Chairman of the Dong Nai Charity Association, the association provides monthly support to 27 individuals. Previously, the value of gifts for those in difficult circumstances was only about 200,000 VND. Due to rising prices, the association recently increased the value of gifts to 300,000 VND per month. In the future, the association will continue to mobilize and connect resources to maintain assistance for the people.

Implementing the "Each organization, each individual is linked to a humanitarian cause" campaign, in the first six months of 2025, the Red Cross Society of Dong Nai province (formerly) provided monthly support to nearly 3,500 particularly disadvantaged households with a total value of over 12 billion VND; the Red Cross Society of Binh Phuoc province (formerly) provided support to over 2,200 humanitarian households with a total value of over 8.7 billion VND.

Continue with charitable and humanitarian activities.

Along with the ongoing campaign "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian cause," humanitarian aid activities will continue to be carried out by charitable and humanitarian organizations.

In particular, the "Sharing the Pain" program, spearheaded by the Association for the Support of Disabled People, Orphans, and Poor Patients of Binh Phuoc Province (formerly) in coordination with various organizations and benefactors, will continue to be maintained.

According to Nguyen Thi Lien, Chairwoman of the Association for the Support of Disabled People, Orphans, and Poor Patients in Binh Phuoc Province (formerly), this program connects the community with those in difficult circumstances, aiming to help them alleviate hardship, cover medical treatment costs, build or renovate houses, or gain additional resources for economic development…

After her divorce, Ms. Duong Thi Trang (residing in Binh Long ward) raised her two children but did not receive child support from her ex-husband. Despite suffering from multiple myeloma, Ms. Trang still sells fruit daily to cover family expenses. After five rounds of chemotherapy, her debt has exceeded 200 million VND, while doctors have prescribed nine more rounds. To help Ms. Trang with her treatment, the "Sharing the Pain" program connected with her family and donated 230 million VND. From this support, the program organizers, along with the family and local authorities, agreed to "share" 40 million VND to assist two other needy families undergoing treatment in the area.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien, the program has helped many people in difficult circumstances to "recover" and have the opportunity to improve their lives. In 2025, she hopes that philanthropists will continue to support the program to help even more people in need.
within the province.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong, once a week, members of the former Dong Nai Provincial Charity Association organize a humanitarian activity to assist the community at various levels and scales, such as: donating meals to self-employed workers and inpatients, giving hundreds of gifts to people in difficult circumstances, etc. The association hopes to continue receiving the support of the community to maintain these meaningful activities.

Specifically, the Provincial Red Cross Society and the Red Cross branches at the commune and ward levels have proactively set out directions for charitable and humanitarian activities in the coming period, focusing on the remaining months of 2025. Specifically, the Red Cross branches at all levels in the province will continue to implement the "Emulation Movement for the Poor - Leaving No One Behind"; mobilize the construction of Red Cross houses for officials, members, and poor households facing housing difficulties; continue to mobilize the implementation of the Cattle Bank Project to help poor households develop their family economies and escape poverty; and promote the "Good People, Good Deeds - Working Together to Build a Compassionate Community" movement…

Ms. Thanh Hieu (residing in Phuoc Tan ward) said that, over the past period, every month, through the former Dong Nai Provincial Red Cross Society, she and her group of friends organized cooking meals to donate to patients and their relatives receiving treatment at medical facilities; they also bought and packaged vegetables and fruits to give to freelance workers… Ms. Thanh Hieu and her group of friends will continue these activities with the hope of working together with the new Dong Nai Provincial Red Cross Society to help people who are still facing difficulties in life.
