Reading to children before bedtime is a common practice among many parents. In the context of fostering reading habits in children from a young age, the recently released book "À ơi" by author Thanh Tâm, illustrated by Windy Trúc Hoàng, with handmade instructions by Đoan Thục and Minh Thư, serves as a meaningful gift for many parents and young readers.

  "À ơi" is a children's lullaby book that combines poetry with interactive instructions. The book has 80 full-color pages including poems, illustrations, sheet music, and craft instructions. The harmonious combination of poetry, illustrations, and experiential activities helps the book develop children's emotions, language, and imagination, contributing to the preservation of lullaby culture and strengthening family bonds in modern life.

Author Thanh Tam shared: “The work uses the metaphorical image of “mother dog and her puppies” throughout, through gentle watercolor drawings to convey the message about maternal love – a universal value for all creatures. The poems are written from the author's real-life experiences in caring for young children, with a soft, intimate tone, suitable for the rhythm of traditional lullabies. Besides the poems, the book also integrates instructions for simple finger puppet games, contributing to turning bedtime time into an interactive activity between parents and children, helping children relax and form a reading habit from an early age.”

The publication "À ơi" has made it to the Top 10 finalists of the 2025 Cricket Children's Award.
