On the morning of May 18th (local time), the official launch ceremony for the 2026 World Cup brand and logo, organized by FIFA, took place in Times Square, New York City (USA).

The ceremony was attended by officials from New York City and New Jersey, along with a large number of football fans.
Speaking at the ceremony, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy thanked FIFA for bringing the World Cup back to New Jersey and New York, the football hubs of America, and said both locations were ready for the biggest football event on the planet.
Meanwhile, New York City Mayor Eric Adams shared that the city is ready to welcome fans from around the world to admire the sights and experience the diverse and unique local culture.
The official New York/New Jersey 2026 logo was displayed on billboards in Times Square, and the iconic "time ball" of New Year's Eve showed a countdown clock to 2026.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico across 16 cities, featuring 48 teams and 104 matches.
In 2022, New York City and the state of New Jersey won the right to host games at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, as part of the 2026 World Cup.
