With the support of FPT Group's digital transformation consulting unit, the AI-First mindset transformation and application program is being implemented to build a solid foundation, equipping businesses with the necessary knowledge and skills for leadership and management. The retail industry is rapidly changing with the development of e-commerce and AI technology. FPT Shop faces competition from online platforms, while FPT Long Chau is accelerating its expansion to maintain its leading position in the pharmaceutical industry. AI is no longer an option, but a prerequisite for businesses to survive and thrive. With AI, FPT Shop can optimize inventory management and improve market demand forecasting, while FPT Long Chau can leverage AI to support drug consultations, enhance service quality, and personalize customer experiences.

FPT Retail Chairwoman Nguyen Bach Diep emphasized the importance of AI in the development strategy: "All employees can leverage AI as early as possible, apply it most frequently and continuously. Integrating AI into our operations not only helps us optimize performance but also creates a sustainable competitive advantage."

FPT Retail's Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Pham Dang Khoi, shared his ideas on applying AI to each individual's work and proposed strategic solutions for expansion throughout the entire organization.

Pioneering the application of AI, the AI-First mindset transformation and application program offers a systemic approach, helping FPT Retail's leaders and managers not only understand AI but also strategically apply it. The program is implemented at the company over approximately 6 weeks with three main phases: foundational training, practical AI application deployment, and results evaluation.

"We aim to revolutionize AI thinking at all levels within businesses, helping them use AI as a strategic tool to optimize operations and foster innovation. AI not only helps businesses improve performance but is also key to creating new business models," shared Mr. Tran Huy Bao Giang, General Director of FPT Digital, FPT Group.

During the first week, the program focused on AI training for leaders and key departments using a "train the trainers" approach. Key content included an overview of AI, practical applications of AI in management, and gathering AI application ideas from various departments. The initial outcome of this phase was the formation of a core team with solid AI knowledge and the development of a list of potential ideas for implementation.

From the second to the fourth week, the AI-First mindset transformation approach was extended to other personnel within the organization. This was a crucial phase to standardize the AI application process into an AI Playbook, ensuring a unified approach for AI deployment across the entire system. Managers and employees shared their desires and ideas for AI applications through the Top5Things AI tool – developed by FPT for each enterprise – creating a database of innovation opportunities within the organization. Simultaneously, internal communication activities were organized to encourage the adoption of AI in daily work.

During the fourth to sixth weeks, using the Top5Things AI tool, FPT will compile and evaluate the received AI application ideas. Following this, FPT Retail will address concerns and gather feedback on implementation methods and refine AI processes. Finally, the ideas will be evaluated, compiled, and standardized into version 1.0 of the AI application process, ready for application across the entire system.
