Hai Phong Station becomes a "Tourist Destination"

On the morning of May 10, in Hai Phong, the Ceremony to Announce Hai Phong Station as a "Tourist Destination" took place.

The event was organized by Vietnam Railways Corporation in coordination with Hai Phong City to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hai Phong (May 13, 1955 / May 13, 2025) - Heroic City.

Built in 1902, Hai Phong Station is one of the oldest and most historically valuable stations in the railway industry because on October 21, 1946, the train departing from here brought President Ho Chi Minh back to Hanoi after attending the Fontainebleau conference in France. Since then, October 21 has become the Traditional Day of Vietnam Railways.

With ancient French architecture, Hai Phong Station is not only a traffic transit point but also a work with deep historical, cultural and artistic values ​​associated with the formation and development of the Port City.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City Vu Huy Thuong expressed: “The event of Hai Phong Station becoming the 12th “Tourist Destination” of the City has recognized the efforts and endeavors in preserving a beautiful architectural work that is a symbol of the city; at the same time, affirming the close coordination between the Vietnam Railways industry and the Hai Phong City government in preserving and promoting the values ​​of the relic, gradually building Hai Phong Station not only as a place to pick up and drop off train passengers but also as a cultural and tourist destination, the starting point for the journey to discover the beauty and famous culinary quintessence of the Red Flamboyant City”.

The interior of the train is called "Red Flamboyant".

The event also saw the opening ceremony of a high-quality train called “Red Flamboyant”. This is the first time the railway industry has put into operation a 34-seat VIP carriage, with an Indochinese-style interior. The 56-seat carriage is equipped with new-generation seats that can rotate 180 degrees. The carriages are equipped with spacious hand-washing areas, modern and clean toilets. In addition, the train also has standard 64-seat carriages, with flexible fares to meet the diverse travel needs of passengers.
