Samsung was said to have started production of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 in May this year, and the latest report suggests that the company will be able to complete the production on time. However, Samsung has lowered the production target for both models due to the unsatisfactory sales of the foldable smartphone industry.

Specifically, the company only plans to produce 3 million Galaxy Z Flip 7 and 2 million Galaxy Z Fold 7, a 40% decrease compared to the previous generation. In addition to phones, accessories for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 are also being produced.
In addition, Samsung is said to be planning to launch its first Galaxy tri-fold smartphone later this year, with a production target of only 200,000 units as Samsung does not expect much from the product's sales due to its high price.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, similar to the Galaxy S25 series. Meanwhile, the chip choice for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is still under consideration. Some test variants using Exynos chips have been spotted, but there is information that Samsung cannot prepare the Exynos 2500 in time, so the Galaxy Z Flip 7 may still use the Snapdragon chip.

Leaks suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be even thinner than the OPPO Find N5, with Samsung's offering likely to be 8.2mm thick when folded.
The fact that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are in production on time is a positive sign, especially as Samsung's biggest rival Apple prepares for the arrival of the iPhone 17 series. Furthermore, the iPhone maker is also planning to launch its first foldable iPhone in 2027 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iPhone launch.
