Hanoi International Marathon – Journey of Conquest and Connection
Taking place from October 3-5, the 4th Techcombank Hanoi International Marathon was held with the participation of 13,000 professional and amateur athletes from many countries and territories. After 3 days of competition, the tournament ended successfully with the achievements of many runners of the Vietnam National Athletics Team in many competing distances.
Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration Le Thi Hoang Yen presented awards to athletes with high achievements at the tournament.
Specifically, in the women's marathon (42km), all three leading positions belonged to Vietnamese athletes. Accordingly, the first, second and third places respectively belonged to runners Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa (with a time of 2 hours 54 minutes 19 seconds), Bui Thi Thu Ha (2 hours 57 minutes 3 seconds) and Doan Thi Oanh (2 hours 57 minutes 56 seconds). Meanwhile, in the men's marathon (42km), Vietnamese athlete Hoang Nguyen Thanh finished third after finishing with a time of 2 hours 30 minutes 58 seconds. First place went to Ethiopian athlete Kure Ebisa Takele with a time of 2 hours 29 minutes 34 seconds; second place went to Kenyan athlete Lilan Kennedy with a time of 2 hours 30 minutes 28 seconds.
In the women's half marathon (21km), the golden girl of Vietnamese athletics Nguyen Thi Oanh also recorded the leading position when finishing with a time of 1 hour 20 minutes 04 seconds. Following her was athlete Bang Thach Long Trinh (1 hour 32 minutes 24 seconds) and third place was Tran Thi Hong. In addition, the professional men's 21km half marathon also witnessed the victory of athlete Nguyen Trung Cuong. This runner defeated Kenyan athlete Kimutai to finish first with a time of 1 hour 10 minutes 07 seconds. Kimutai had a result of 1 hour 13 minutes 45 seconds. Third place was Hoang Viet Vy Ly (1 hour 13 minutes 47 seconds).
The tournament ended successfully with the achievements of many runners of the Vietnam national athletics team in many competing distances.
In the men's open event, runner Pham Tien San with a time of 2 hours 40 minutes 25 seconds also won the leading position. Runner Ha Quang Thang came in second place, and Nguyen Mai Trung came in third. In the women's event, first place went to Hoang Huong Thuy with a time of 3 hours 10 minutes 21 seconds, second place went to Pham Thi My Duyen, and third place went to Nguyen Thi Minh Hang.
In the men's 10km distance, former national athlete Tran Van Dang finished first with a time of 34 minutes and 54 seconds, while the women's 10km distance was won by Tran Thi Duyen (40 minutes and 58 seconds).
The Hanoi International Marathon not only spreads the spirit of sportsmanship and the will to overcome oneself, but also contributes to promoting the mass running movement, arousing the spirit of "Healthy to build and protect the Fatherland", creating a meaningful highlight in the series of events celebrating the traditional day of the Capital.
Dragon Boat - SUP 2025 Tournament: an opportunity to promote culture and tourism
The 2025 Hanoi Open Dragon Boat and SUP Championship officially opened on the morning of October 5 at West Lake, Hanoi. Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration Le Thi Hoang Yen attended the event.
The tournament is not only a sporting activity but also a cultural bridge and promotion of the capital's tourism to international friends.
This year, the tournament entered its 6th season with the participation of more than 550 athletes from domestic and foreign units and enterprises. However, this is the first time that SUP (Stand Up Paddle) was included in the competition program. In the dragon boat event, there were more than 400 athletes from 22 teams from 22 units including: 5 communes and wards of the city, 7 business organizations, universities; 10 embassies and international organizations in Hanoi; competing in 3 groups: Group of communes and wards; group of embassies and international organizations and group of domestic organizations and enterprises.
The SUP event has nearly 150 athletes from 24 units including: 8 international teams, 16 provincial and municipal teams across the country; competing in 5 events: Men's 400m Sprint, Women's 400m Sprint, Men's 800m Technical, Women's 800m Technical and Family Relay Race.
Dragon Boat Racing - SUP is one of the events in the series of activities of the program "Touching Autumn in Hanoi" organized by Hanoi People's Committee in coordination with Vietnam Airlines. This is not simply a sporting event, but also a place where traditional culture blends with modern sports to create the typical values of Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general.
With a professional organization scale, rich content and strong response from the community, the West Lake Dragon Boat - SUP Swimming Tournament continues to affirm its position as a prestigious annual event, contributing to promoting the sports movement and promoting the culture - tourism of the Capital.
