Chinese robotics company ENGINEAI has just captured global attention by announcing a new factory in Shenzhen capable of producing a humanoid robot every 15 minutes, marking a significant acceleration in the race to commercialize robots on a large scale. ENGINEAI's new smart manufacturing facility, located in the Honghualing area, covers nearly 12,000 square meters and is designed as a closed-loop production line, with the entire process from component inspection, assembly, testing to after-sales service operating within a single automated system. According to ENGINEAI, the first batch of T800 humanoid robots has officially rolled off the production line, marking the beginning of a plan to expand industrial robot production as China ramps up investment in artificial intelligence and next-generation automation technology.
The factory's most striking feature is its incredibly fast production speed, but the company asserts that each robot still has to pass up to 79 quality control checks and 46 simulation tests to assess its durability, continuous operation capabilities, and stability in real-world environments. ENGINEAI stated that its product ecosystem currently includes the T800 heavy-duty humanoid robot, the PM01 robot, the SA02 ultralight companion robot, and the JS01 quadrupedal robot, aimed at serving applications ranging from industrial use to personal support and technical inspection. Despite being founded only in 2023, ENGINEAI has quickly become a prominent name in China after successfully raising $200 million in its Series B funding round, thereby boosting the company's valuation to over $1.4 billion. Not stopping at Shenzhen, the company also plans to build an additional robot manufacturing center with a capacity of 10,000 products in Zhengzhou to expand its supply chain and accelerate the commercialization of humanoid robots in the coming years. The emergence of high-speed robotic factories like ENGINEAI shows that the global race for humanoid robots is entering a new phase, where businesses are no longer just showcasing technology but are beginning to move towards actual industrial production on a scale of tens of thousands of robots per year.
