Nearly 400 students skipped the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just reported on the organization of the Literature exam for the 10th grade entrance exam in the 2026-2027 school year. According to statistics, 390 candidates were absent from the first exam session, losing the opportunity to enter public high schools.

The number of candidates taking the Literature exam was 123,692 out of a total of 124,082 registered candidates (a participation rate of 99.69%). Five candidates required assistance with the exam due to health issues and needed medical support.

One candidate violated the regulations by bringing a mobile phone into the examination room; no invigilators violated the regulations.

The Department of Education and Training has arranged 224 examination centers with 5,300 examination rooms across the city, located in high schools and some junior high schools. Of these, 385 are reserve examination rooms. Approximately 17,800 officials, teachers, and staff have been mobilized to serve the examination.

According to the Department of Education and Training, the examinations in the city proceeded normally, safely, seriously, and in strict compliance with the examination regulations.

Starting on May 30th, the entrance exam for 10th grade in public high schools in Hanoi for the 2026-2027 school year will officially take place. Candidates will take three independent exams: Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Language.

Admission score = Math score + Literature score + Foreign language score + Priority points (if any) + Encouragement points (if any).

The Mathematics and Literature exams will be essay-based, with a time limit of 120 minutes. The Foreign Language exam will be multiple-choice with various test versions, and a time limit of 60 minutes.

According to the plan, on the afternoon of May 30th, candidates will take the Foreign Language exam for 60 minutes.

Candidates should note that for each exam session, they must be present in the examination room at the specified time and obey the instructions and guidance of the invigilators. Candidates arriving more than 15 minutes late after the start time will not be allowed to take the exam that session.
