According to information from the Department of Tourism , in the 9 days (from January 25th to February 2nd, or from the 26th day of the 12th lunar month to the 5th day of Tet), Quang Ninh welcomed nearly 970,000 tourists, an increase of 21% compared to the same period of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon.
Of these, international visitors reached nearly 230,000, and domestic visitors reached over 740,000. International overnight stays totaled nearly 140,600. Total tourism revenue reached 2,600 billion VND, a 43% increase compared to the same period during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon.
At the beginning of the new year, the province's cultural and spiritual destinations continued to be a major attraction for tourists, with visitor numbers increasing 6-8 times compared to normal days. On February 2nd (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), Quang Ninh welcomed 208,000 visitors, a 14% increase compared to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year in 2024. Cua Ong Temple (Cam Pha City) received nearly 15,600 visitors; Cai Bau Pagoda (Van Don District) approximately 20,000; Yen Tu National Special Historical Site (Uong Bi City) nearly 24,300; Bach Dang Historical Site (Quang Yen Town) nearly 23,000; and Tran Dynasty Historical Site (Dong Trieu City) 16,000.
During this period, popular tourist destinations and entertainment areas also saw a 40-50% increase in visitors, such as: Ha Long Bay with nearly 8,000 visitors; Sun World Ha Long Park with 1,500 visitors; Quang Ninh Museum with nearly 900 visitors… International visitors entering through Mong Cai border gate reached over 4,200.
With a surge in tourist numbers and many large tour groups arriving in Quang Ninh by land, sea, and air right from the beginning of the year, this is a positive start for Quang Ninh's tourism industry to continue its impressive growth, aiming to welcome 20 million visitors in 2025, including 4.5 million international tourists.
