To help orphaned children overcome difficulties and thrive in life, in November 2021, the Provincial Women's Union launched the "Godmother" model for the period 2021-2025. Women's Union branches at all levels have implemented many creative approaches to mobilize the collective efforts of the entire society and community in supporting, nurturing, and sponsoring orphaned children with particularly difficult circumstances in the province.
According to the survey, as of May 2025, the province has 2,340 orphaned children in difficult circumstances, of which 1,221 have received sponsorship, with support ranging from 300,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND per child per month, for a period of 1-5 years, until the children reach 18 years of age or their family circumstances improve. The total funding for these children reached nearly 17.5 billion VND.
Through their own determination and the care and support of local authorities, organizations, and associations, many orphans have strived to overcome challenges in life, becoming exemplary role models in their studies and personal development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Tan acknowledged and praised the achievements of the "Godmother" model implemented by the Provincial Women's Union in coordination with various departments, agencies, and organizations at all levels. He also acknowledged the generosity of units, businesses, organizations, and individuals inside and outside the province who have always shown affection and support for orphaned children.
Currently, children in general, and orphans in particular, face numerous difficulties and challenges, not only in terms of conditions and circumstances, but also in terms of risks such as violence, abuse, and injuries. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Women's Union to continue to promote its core role, maintain and widely spread the "Godmother" model in a sustainable manner. All levels, sectors, and localities need to strengthen coordination and pay more attention to the protection, care, and education of children, especially orphans and children in difficult circumstances. Organizations, businesses, and individuals inside and outside the province should continue to accompany and spread love, so that no disadvantaged child is left behind in the development process…
