Meeting of the Quang Tri Hometown Association in Ho Chi Minh City

This morning, March 17th, the Quang Tri Hometown Association in Ho Chi Minh City held its traditional New Year's gathering for 2024. Attending the event were the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Dang Quang; the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ha Sy Dong; representatives from the Quang Tri Hometown Association in neighboring provinces; and a large number of Quang Tri residents living, working, and studying in Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2023, upholding the tradition of solidarity, sharing, and mutual support of their homeland, the Quang Tri Hometown Association in Ho Chi Minh City brought together and connected a large number of people from Quang Tri to participate in activities, and organized many meaningful and practical events such as: commemorating the 20th anniversary of the "Supporting Students to School" Fund; "Quang Tri's Compassion in July - Flowers Offered at the Graves of Martyrs"; "Joining Hands in Compassion - Fund for the Poor"...

We mobilized billions of VND to organize activities to encourage and support people from Quang Tri province living in Ho Chi Minh City who are facing difficulties and hardships, giving them better opportunities to improve their lives and studies. Along with that, we organized many practical activities focused on our homeland, such as awarding scholarships to poor students, providing livelihood and housing support for the poor, and activities expressing gratitude and remembrance of our roots.

In 2024, the Quang Tri Hometown Association in Ho Chi Minh City continued to strengthen its activities. These included focusing on reviving hometown traditions, encouraging and supporting each other so that Quang Tri residents living far from home can all have increasingly better lives; and actively contributing to their homeland through many practical and effective activities.

According to Dao Xuan Thong, Head of the Quang Tri Hometown Association in Ho Chi Minh City, although living far from their hometown, the people of Quang Tri always follow and rejoice in the province's achievements in recent times; they believe that Quang Tri will continue to develop even more strongly in the future, living up to the expectations of the people in the province as well as those living abroad.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, on behalf of the Party Committee, the government, and the people of the province, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Dang Quang, extended his best wishes to the people of Quang Tri living, studying, and working in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the New Year.

Expressing his sincere appreciation for the meaningful and practical contributions of the Quang Tri Hometown Association in Ho Chi Minh City over the past period, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Dang Quang, affirmed that the success and achievements of people from Quang Tri in Ho Chi Minh City and many other places are always a source of pride, a spiritual support, and a valuable resource for their homeland and for generations of people from Quang Tri, especially the younger generation.

Briefly summarizing the outstanding achievements of 2023 and some major directions and activities of the province in 2024, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Dang Quang, expressed his hope that the people of Quang Tri residing in Ho Chi Minh City would continue to unite and support each other in life. At the same time, he urged them to always look towards their homeland and contribute to building a more prosperous and beautiful Quang Tri.

On the occasion of the New Year, we wish our fellow Quang Tri residents in Ho Chi Minh City continued success in upholding and spreading the noble qualities and fine traditions of their homeland, achieving even greater success in all fields.

On this occasion, many organizations and individuals donated hundreds of millions of VND to the Quang Tri Hometown Association's Scholarship Fund in Ho Chi Minh City; the organizing committee awarded 35 scholarships to Quang Tri students who overcame difficulties and excelled in their studies in Ho Chi Minh City.
