Rice prices fluctuate; paddy prices are stable

Rice prices today, July 18, in the Mekong Delta region remain stable for rice products. Rice prices increased by 50 VND/kg for raw rice and finished rice.

Rice market in localities in the Mekong Delta today is generally slow, raw rice is low due to rain, good rice is low, bad rice is high.

Specifically in Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the supply is stable, the price of rice fluctuates little. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang ), the price is stable, there is little good rice. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the transaction is stable, the quality of rice is poor, and there is little raw rice.

According to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, rice prices have been adjusted compared to yesterday. Specifically, IR 504 summer-autumn raw rice is at 10,650 - 10,750 VND/kg, down 50 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice is at 12,500 - 12,600 VND/kg, up 50 VND/kg.

By-products today recorded no adjustment compared to yesterday. Currently, the price of IR 504 rice bran is at 8,700 - 8,900 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry bran is stable at 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg.

At retail markets, rice prices have not been adjusted. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of 30,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice 20,000 VND/kg; regular rice fluctuates around 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice 20,000 - 21,000 VND/kg; Huong jasmine rice 20,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice 18,500 VND/kg; Thai Soc rice 20,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 22,000 VND/kg.

Regarding rice, it is noted that in localities, new rice transactions are slow due to rain, many places have stopped buying, farmers offer stable prices, and purchasing power is weak.

Specifically, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, rice prices have been adjusted compared to yesterday, IR 50404 price fluctuates around 6,900 - 7,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice is at 7,100 - 7,300 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice price is stable at 6,900 - 7,200 VND/kg; OM 18 rice is at 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg; OM 380 fluctuates from 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg; Nhat rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 is at 7,600 - 7,700 VND/kg and Nang Nhen rice (dry) is at 20,000 VND/kg.

Accordingly, the sticky rice market recorded an adjustment compared to yesterday. 3-month sticky rice (dry) remained unchanged compared to the price from 8,800 VND/kg to 9,000 VND/kg. In addition, 9,000 - 9,200 VND/kg is the selling price applied to Long An sticky rice (dry). On the other hand, 3-month sticky rice (fresh) was stable compared to yesterday at 7,300 - 7,500 VND/kg and Long An sticky rice (fresh) increased by 50 VND compared to today.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained stable compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice was stable at 460 USD/ton; 5% broken rice is currently at 562 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 538 USD/ton.
