Accordingly, in implementation of Official Letter No. 1846/BNG-ĐNA dated April 3, 2025, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the form of the funeral ceremony for Comrade Khamtay Siphandone - former Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and former Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic - according to the State funeral protocol; the Provincial People's Committee announces that agencies, units, and localities in the province shall fly flags at half-mast for two days, April 4 and 5.
Public entertainment and recreational activities will be suspended for two days, April 4th and 5th.
Central agencies located in the province; agencies, departments, and mass organizations; political and social organizations; and localities are requested to suspend or postpone celebratory events, art programs, sports competitions, and public entertainment activities in their areas during the two days of the national mourning period.
The People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities shall direct organizations, individuals, and entertainment establishments to stop or postpone the organization of art programs, sports competitions, and public entertainment activities in their areas during the two days of the national mourning period.
