Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region today, May 9, 2026, fluctuated slightly; domestic rice exports and exports to the Asian market remained stable.

According to today's global market reports, in Thailand, 5% broken rice is priced between $396-400 per ton, while 100% broken rice ranges from $369-373 per ton. In India, 5% broken rice is priced at $345-349 per ton, and 100% broken rice is offered at $280-284 per ton.

The global rice market continues to be impacted by geopolitical conflicts, high energy prices, and persistently high logistics costs, putting pressure on supply and demand and leading to cautious trading.

In Asia, rice exports are more active, and rice prices are trending upwards compared to the beginning of May, sending positive signals. However, prices remain volatile and have not yet formed a stable trend due to the ongoing tug-of-war between supply and demand.

In the domestic market, rice prices today, May 9, 2026, in the Mekong Delta region are fluctuating, and trading remains slow.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province and Vietnam Rice, the current prices for export-grade raw rice are: IR 504 at 8,600 - 8,700 VND/kg; CL 555 at 9,100 - 9,200 VND/kg; OM 18 at 8,700 - 8,850 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 at 9,200 - 9,400 VND/kg; OM 380 at 7,500 - 7,600 VND/kg; Soc Thom at 7,500 - 7,600 VND/kg; and finished IR 504 rice at 10,750 - 10,090 VND/kg, compared to the end of last week.

Regarding by-products, prices range from approximately 7,400 to 11,500 VND/kg. Currently, grade 2 rice is priced at 7,400 - 7,500 VND/kg; bran prices range from 10,500 - 11,500 VND/kg, compared to the end of last week.

According to reports from various localities today, the prices of all types of rice are relatively stable, with slow trading activity. In An Giang, less rice is arriving at the mills, trading is sluggish, and the prices of all types of rice remain firm.

In the Sa Dec area (Dong Thap province), most warehouses are slowing down, with few new transactions and stable prices. In An Cu (Dong Thap province), transactions are weak, and prices are relatively stable.

At retail markets, rice prices remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed highest at 28,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice at 22,000 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice at 21,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice at 20,000 VND/kg; common white rice at 16,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 13,000 - 14,000 VND/kg, regular rice ranges from 13,000 - 14,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice ranges from 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice at 20,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice at 22,000 VND/kg.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the price of fresh rice has increased by 100 VND/kg: OM 18 rice is fluctuating between 6,200 and 6,300 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) is also increasing by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,200 and 6,300 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice (fresh) is fluctuating between 5,600 and 5,700 VND/kg; IR 50404 rice (fresh) is fluctuating between 5,400 and 5,500 VND/kg; and OM 34 rice (fresh) is fluctuating between 5,100 and 5,200 VND/kg, compared to the end of last week.

Reports from various localities today indicate that fresh rice supplies are running low, and prices are fluctuating slightly. In Ca Mau, the remaining supply of fresh rice is limited in some fields, with traders mainly purchasing newly harvested rice, and prices remain stable.

In Can Tho, An Giang, Tay Ninh, Ca Mau, Dong Thap, Tay Ninh, and Vinh Long, the supply of fresh rice is limited, and prices remain relatively stable.

On the export market, the price of Vietnamese rice currently varies. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), Jasmine rice is offered at 513-517 USD/ton; 100% broken fragrant rice ranges from 331-335 USD/ton; and 5% broken fragrant rice ranges from 510-520 USD/ton.
