
Specifically, the IR4625 glutinous rice variety is being purchased at prices ranging from 6,200-6,800 VND/kg, an increase of about 400 VND/kg compared to the previous week; IR50404 rice ranges from 5,600-5,900 VND/kg, an increase of 200 VND/kg. Some high-quality varieties have seen even higher increases, such as Dai Thom 8 from 6,600-6,900 VND/kg, an increase of 700 VND/kg; OM18 from 6,600-6,900 VND/kg, an increase of 800 VND/kg; and OM5451 from 5,900-6,200 VND/kg, an increase of 500 VND/kg.
Regarding production, the total sown area for the 2025-2026 Winter-Spring rice crop in the entire province reached 290,500 hectares. The harvested area was over 253,000 hectares, with an average yield of 6.8 tons/ha, and an estimated production of approximately 1.72 million tons.
For the 2026 Summer-Autumn rice crop, the entire province sowed 29,544/272,500 hectares. The harvested area is over 2,200 hectares, with a yield of 7.34 tons/ha, and an estimated production of nearly 17,000 tons.

Pest and disease outbreaks are scattered. In the 2025-2025 Winter-Spring rice crop, pests such as rice blast, leaf blight, neck blast, and brown planthopper are causing light to moderate damage; in the newly planted 2026 Summer-Autumn rice crop, leaf blast and whiteflies are appearing at the seedling and tillering stages.
Experts predict that pests and diseases will decrease in the 2025-2026 Winter-Spring rice crop. However, in the 2026 Summer-Autumn rice crop, pests such as thrips, golden apple snails, leaf-rolling caterpillars, and whiteflies are likely to emerge. Farmers need to proactively monitor and control them promptly to minimize damage.
