Gold prices surged by 7 million VND per tael this week.

On the weekend of April 26th, domestic gold prices increased by 500,000 - 1,000,000 VND per tael. Overall for the week, the price of the precious metal rose by 7 million VND per tael.

This morning, Saigon Gold, Silver and Gemstone Company Limited listed gold rings weighing 1-5 taels at 114 million VND/tael (buying price) - 116.5 million VND/tael (selling price), an increase of 1.5 million VND/tael (buying price) and 1 million VND/tael (selling price) compared to the end of the previous day.

This business increased the price of SJC gold bars by 500,000 VND/ounce in both directions, to 119 million VND/ounce (buying price) - 121 million VND/ounce (selling price).

The price of plain gold rings listed by this business is 117 million VND/ounce (buying price) - 120 million VND/ounce (selling price), which is 500,000 VND/ounce higher than the end of yesterday in both directions.

Looking back at the domestic gold market, on the first day of the week, the price of SJC gold bars fluctuated sharply, increasing by up to 4 million VND/ounce in both directions, reaching 116 million VND/ounce (buying) - 118 million VND/ounce (selling) amidst a surge in world gold prices to near 3,390 USD/ounce.

The following day, the price of this precious metal continued to surge, adding another 6 million VND/ounce, reaching an unprecedented high of 124 million VND/ounce. Domestic gold prices rose due to the global gold price reaching 3,450 USD/ounce and strong domestic demand.

After increasing by a total of 10 million VND/ounce over two days, gold prices reversed course on April 23rd, plummeting by 4.5 million VND/ounce, falling below the 120 million VND/ounce mark to 116.5 million VND/ounce (buying price) - 119.5 million VND/ounce (selling price).

The following day, the price of precious metals rose again, by 2 million VND/ounce and 1.5 million VND/ounce respectively, reaching 118.5 million VND/ounce (buying price) - 121 million VND/ounce (selling price).

As of April 25th, the price of SJC gold bars remained unchanged at 118.5 million VND/ounce for buying; the selling price decreased by 500,000 VND/ounce, down to 120.5 million VND/ounce.

Given these developments, the price of SJC gold bars is now 7 million VND/ounce higher than it was last weekend.

The price of gold rings follows the same trend as SJC gold bars, but with a smaller range of increase and decrease.
