Gold prices are plummeting again.

World gold prices at 9:30 PM today, December 13th, fell by another $23 per ounce, to $2,657 per ounce.

Gold prices continue to plummet.

This marks the second consecutive day of sharp declines in gold prices, with a total drop of $63 per ounce.

Based on the exchange rate listed at the bank, the world gold price is equivalent to 81.61 million VND per tael.

Previously, in just two days, the world gold price had increased by $73 per ounce, equivalent to 2.24 million VND per tael. Therefore, investors expect the gold price to reach its previous record high.

However, contrary to predictions, gold prices unexpectedly reversed course and fell sharply. On gold forums, investors expressed pessimism. According to analyses, the price movements of gold will become more complex.

A major risk to gold is the uncertain economic policies of US President-elect Donald Trump, especially regarding tariffs.

Besides, there are still quite optimistic forecasts that the decline in world gold prices is necessary for a strong rebound. After the meeting of the US Federal Reserve (Fed), gold prices are likely to recover.

Some analyses suggest that inflation in the US is showing signs of slowing down, and could accelerate again in 2025.

The situation could force the Fed to slow down the pace of interest rate cuts, thereby impacting the upward price outlook for gold.

Domestically, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) today sharply reduced the selling price of SJC gold bars to 86.3 million VND/ounce, a decrease of 800,000 VND/ounce compared to yesterday. The buying price also fell from 84.6 million VND/ounce to 83.8 million VND/ounce.

The difference between the buying and selling price is 2.5 million VND per tael.

Meanwhile, the selling price of SJC gold rings decreased by 600,000 VND/ounce today, to 85.3 million VND/ounce. The buying price is now 83.8 million VND/ounce.

Bao Tin Minh Chau Co., Ltd. reduced the selling price of gold rings to 85.58 million VND/ounce, and the buying price to 83.83 million VND/ounce.

DOJI company listed the price of gold rings at 83.8 - 84.9 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price), a decrease of 1 million VND/ounce compared to yesterday.

The gold market has cooled down considerably compared to last month, despite a more abundant supply.

At current prices, SJC gold bars are priced 4.69 million VND/ounce higher than the world gold price, while gold rings are priced 3.69 million VND/ounce higher.
