What did the artists say about the reunion at the 29th Mai Vàng Awards ceremony on January 18th?
Meritorious Artist Vo Minh Lam: "The role of Liem is my favorite character."
This year has brought many new roles, but unexpectedly, the character of the interpreter Liem in the play "The Singer" on the Dai Viet New Cai Luong stage is the role that brings me the most happiness. During my time striving in this profession, the Mai Vang Award has brought me so much joy on my artistic journey. I predict that one of the two actresses who have worked alongside me, Que Tran or Tu Suong, will win the Mai Vang award. As for me, whether I receive the award or not will not change my feelings for the Mai Vang Award – the affection from readers and the public who love Cai Luong theater.

This year, I am once again honored to participate in the musical performance "Kindness Around Us," paying tribute to and honoring the generous people of Ho Chi Minh City. I believe that through the 29th Mai Vang Awards, stage artists will have more new creations worthy of the affection that the majority of the public has for Cai Luong theater.
Meritorious Artist Tú Sương: "I am committed to spreading positive energy to the profession."
I always place the Mai Vang Award statue in a place of honor at home. For many years, the Mai Vang Award has been a driving force for me to strive in my profession. This year, I was unexpectedly nominated and included in the voting round for my role as Bui Thi Xuan in the play "Against the Current of the Tay Son Dynasty". It's a great joy because we have received the attention and encouragement from readers and audiences for the Cai Luong stage, especially regarding Vietnamese historical themes.
No matter what I do or what role I play, I will work with my colleagues to spread positive energy to young people and help preserve and develop traditional theater.
Comedian Huynh Lap: "Trust in the audience's choice"
Having been recognized by readers of the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper for my work as a director over the past year, I am happy that the play "Mother Singing on the Street" also brought me the opportunity to be nominated for and selected for the role of Uncle Ba in the upcoming awards. I always strive to overcome all difficulties and live up to the expectations of the majority of readers and the public who came to see "Mother Singing on the Street" at the Truong Hung Minh Art Theatre.
I will attend the awards ceremony and feel happy to receive the audience's support for the roles, plays, and works that made it into the top voting categories. Thank you to the audience, thank you to the Mai Vàng Awards for so much kindness shown to artists and performers.
Actress Le Loc: "The audience always gives me strength."
I've been so excited these past few days knowing I'm in the top 2 for the comedy category. This year, my role as Vân in the musical "Bông cánh cò" by Hồng Vân's Theater has given me the opportunity to both perform comedy and sing folk-inspired songs by composer Bắc Sơn. Therefore, this is an unforgettable memory, as it's the first time I've been voted for by readers and the audience. Whether I win an award or not, this role will always motivate me to achieve even better results in my future roles.
Artist Hoang Hai: "Always striving to reinvent myself"
I feel I have received very close attention from readers and audiences, so I am always determined to reinvent myself through each role. I am grateful for the affection that readers and audiences have shown me in the project promoting traditional Vietnamese opera. I was overjoyed to be selected among the top 4 male stage actors, and I am extremely proud to have worked with many talented senior actors and actresses, from whom I have gained valuable experience.
Playwright Hoang Song Viet: "The Mai Vang Award is a motivation for young people to strive for success."
I always tell the young actors participating in the Dai Viet New Cai Luong Theatre that they must strive to have their artistic achievements recognized by readers and the public after a year of hard work. When I learned that the play "The Singing Actress" was on the list of nominees, I was happy because it was an opportunity to promote a play featuring young actors.
Director Hoa Ha and I have always advocated for helping young people take their profession seriously and achieve success from challenging roles. I am grateful for the affection shown by the readers of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper to the "The Opera Singer" team. I always aim for new plays where the main characters are played by young actors. The Mai Vang Award each year is a motivation for Dai Viet New Cai Luong Theatre to strive for excellence.
