MANY OPTIONS FOR STUDENTS
Nguyen Dinh Chieu High School (My Tho Ward) has announced its enrollment plan for 10th grade in the 2026-2027 school year.

Accordingly, campus 1 will enroll 17 classes with 765 students, and campus 2 will enroll 10 classes with 450 students, averaging 45 students per class.
This academic year, the school continues to focus on improving the overall quality of education ; at the same time, it is implementing a program for students to choose subject combinations that suit their abilities, strengths, and career orientations according to the 2018 General Education Program. These subject combinations are flexibly structured into various groups such as natural sciences and social sciences.
According to Vo Hoai Nhan Trung, the principal of Nguyen Dinh Chieu High School: “After being admitted, each student will register two preferences for subject combinations in the application form.”
Based on students' preferences and their 10th-grade entrance exam scores, the school prioritizes placement according to their first choice. If the number of applicants is insufficient to open a class, students will be considered for their second choice.

If the second choice is also unsuitable, the school will organize counseling sessions to help students and parents choose a subject combination that better suits their abilities and academic goals.
In addition, the school publishes the phone number of the admissions counseling officer to support students and parents; at the same time, the Board of Directors organizes direct counseling on the selection of subject combinations and related learning and training content immediately after the admission results are announced.”
Meanwhile, at Thap Muoi High School (Thap Muoi commune), for the 2026-2027 school year, the school will enroll 16 classes of 10th graders with 704 students. Class placement is carried out on the basis of harmonizing students' aspirations, actual abilities, and the school's teaching conditions, thereby creating a favorable foundation for early career guidance.
Organizing subject combinations helps students choose subjects that match their abilities, paving the way for future career choices.
According to Vo Van Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dong Thap province , the exam has several new features aimed at achieving fairness, reducing pressure, and increasing choices for candidates.
The admissions process is conducted without geographical limitations. This allows students to proactively choose schools that suit their abilities, commuting conditions, and academic aspirations.
A notable new development is the accelerated digital transformation in the education sector, with all candidates registering for the entrance exam online. The synchronized implementation of online registration across the province is a significant step in the sector's digital transformation.
This year's exam structure has been adjusted to closely follow the 2018 General Education Program, focusing on assessing competence and the ability to apply knowledge to practice, rather than simply testing memorization.

Solving problems and honing students' test-taking skills.

Immediately after the end of the second semester, junior high schools in the province intensified exam preparation for 9th-grade students, focusing on consolidating knowledge and honing test-taking skills.
Many schools are reinforcing students' familiarization with different question types and exercises, especially focusing on test-taking skills for multiple-choice math exams – a subject that will be tested in a multiple-choice format this year.
In addition, schools also coordinate with parents to support students in maintaining a stable mindset and preparing well for the exam.
According to Vo Le Ngoc Tram, Deputy Principal of Xuan Dieu Secondary School (My Tho Ward): “Right after the end of the second semester, the school implemented phase 3 of the review plan, which is practicing exam questions. Besides consolidating knowledge in subjects like Literature, Mathematics, and English, in the final review phase, the school focuses on guiding students in solving exam questions, honing their test-taking skills, and familiarizing them with exam pressure. At the same time, teachers regularly encourage and support students, helping them confidently enter the exam.”

From May 14th to May 16th, 2026, students can submit their application documents in person at the high schools where they registered to take the entrance exam.
High schools arranged volunteer teams and teachers to assist and guide candidates in checking their application documents and information, receiving applications, and carefully reminding candidates of the deadlines for receiving their exam cards. Many parents accompanied their children to submit applications with excitement and high expectations for the upcoming exam.
Ngo Tuong Kha Ai, a student in class 9/2 at Xuan Dieu Secondary School (My Tho ward), excitedly submitted her application to Tien Giang Specialized High School (Trung An ward), saying: "With the desire to study in a high-quality environment to develop myself, I registered to take the entrance exam for the specialized Physics class at the school."

The next steps involve the Department of Education and Training establishing the Examination Supervision Council, the Examination Paper Transportation and Delivery Committee, the Examination Marking Council, and the Appeals Council (if any), with the correct composition and number of members as stipulated in the regulations.
At the same time, the organization will inspect the admissions process throughout the province to ensure that the exam takes place safely, seriously, objectively, and in accordance with regulations.
In addition, coordination among departments, agencies, socio-political organizations, and educational institutions is necessary to fully prepare the conditions to ensure security and order, traffic safety, facilities, and equipment at the examination centers, creating the most favorable conditions for candidates to participate in the exam.
