Reduce heavy calculation questions, increase thinking and practical questions

Báo Nhân dânBáo Nhân dân01/07/2024

This year's Chemistry exam was assessed by teachers as not too difficult, with 75% of the questions (30/40 questions) at the Recognition - Understanding level, 25% of the questions (10/40 questions) at the Application - High Application level. Among the questions with a score range of 7.5 to 10 points, there is 1 question from grade 11, the rest are from the grade 12 program with a difficulty level equivalent to the 2023 high school graduation exam.

"In the proposal, there are some calculation questions related to real life, aiming to test candidates' ability to apply learned knowledge into practice," commented a teacher of the Natural Science Department, HOCMAI Education System.

Sharing the same opinion, teacher Pham Thanh Tung of Admissions 247 said that the exam questions mainly covered the 12th grade chemistry program, with some familiar questions from the 11th grade program, and no specific questions from the 10th grade Chemistry program.

The topics that appear are similar to the reference questions and previous year's questions.

Mr. Tung said that the exam reduced the number of questions that focused on calculation and increased the number of thinking and practical questions. Practical questions focused on real-life issues such as: Greenhouse gases and the preparation of explosives, acids, etc.

“This year’s exam has the same breadth of knowledge but is easier than the Chemistry exam in 2023. The exam level is differentiated in the last 10 questions. It is predicted that this year’s score distribution may be slightly higher than last year,” said Mr. Pham Thanh Tung.
