This year's Chemistry exam was assessed by teachers as not too difficult, with 75% of the questions (30/40) at the Knowledge-Understanding level and 25% (10/40) at the Application-Higher Application level. Among the questions worth between 7.5 and 10 points, there was one question from the 11th grade curriculum, while the rest were from the 12th grade curriculum, with a difficulty level comparable to the 2023 high school graduation exam.
"The exam includes several calculation questions related to real-life situations, aiming to test the candidates' ability to apply learned knowledge to practice," commented a teacher from the Natural Sciences Department of the HOCMAI education system.
Sharing the same view, teacher Pham Thanh Tung from Tuyensinh247 believes that the exam mainly covers the 12th-grade chemistry curriculum, with some familiar questions from the 11th-grade curriculum, but lacks questions specific to the 10th-grade chemistry curriculum.
The topics that appeared were similar to those in the sample test and previous years' tests.
According to Mr. Tung, the exam reduced the number of questions heavily focused on calculations and increased the number of questions requiring critical thinking and practical application. The practical questions addressed real-world issues such as greenhouse gases, explosives manufacturing, and acids.
“This year's exam covers the same range of knowledge but is easier than the 2023 Chemistry exam. The difficulty level is differentiated in the last 10 questions. I predict the average score this year may be slightly higher than last year,” – Mr. Pham Thanh Tung commented.
