Instead of applying the policy until the end of April, the Government has decided to extend the policy of adjusting the preferential import tax rate on some gasoline and oil products down to 0% until the end of June.

The government has just issued a resolution extending the policy of reducing import taxes on certain gasoline and oil products to 0% until June 30th.
Previously, on March 9, 2026, the Government issued Decree No. 72 adjusting the preferential import tax rate for certain gasoline, diesel, and raw materials for gasoline and diesel production down to 0%. The application period lasted until April 30.
The newly issued government resolution decides to extend the application period of this policy by another two months, until June 30th.
Accordingly, the preferential import tax rate for certain raw materials used in gasoline and diesel production, such as light crude oil, other medium-grade oils, and refined products, is 0%.
From July 1st, the preferential import tax rates for gasoline, diesel, and raw materials for gasoline and diesel production will be implemented according to the regulations in Government Decree No. 26 dated May 31, 2023, on the Export Tariff Schedule, Preferential Import Tariff Schedule, List of Goods and Absolute Tax Rates, Mixed Taxes, and Import Taxes outside the Tariff Quota.
During the period when the new resolution is in effect, in case of any discrepancies between the provisions of this resolution and Decree No. 26 and any amending or supplementary decrees to Decree 26 (if any) regarding the preferential import tax rates for gasoline, diesel, and raw materials for gasoline and diesel production, the Government clearly states that the provisions of this new resolution will be followed.
According to the Ministry of Finance , extending the application of the 0% import tax rate aims to contribute to stabilizing the gasoline and oil market and ensuring domestic energy security in the context of a global situation that still harbors many unpredictable factors.
At the same time, this policy also aims to ensure macroeconomic stability to contribute to achieving economic growth targets; and to ensure compliance with the authority, form, order, and procedures for drafting and promulgating policies as prescribed by law.
