In 2023, the University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) has 13 lecturers recognized as qualified and appointed to the titles of Professor and Associate Professor. Of these, only one person was appointed as Professor, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huu Loc.

Dr. Nguyen Huu Loc, born in 1964, from Trang Bang, Tay Ninh province, works at the school's Mechanical Engineering department.
Mr. Loc received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Belarusian National University of Technology in 1988. In 1992, he received his doctorate also from the Belarusian National University of Technology.
To date, Dr. Nguyen Huu Loc has published 84 scientific articles, including 28 scientific articles in prestigious international journals (SCIE/Scopus), published 3 textbooks, and 17 reference documents.
During his teaching career, he has guided 6 doctoral students, including 4 people who are the main guides for their doctoral theses; completed 7 scientific research topics at the basic level or higher after Associate Professor as the head of 2 basic level topics and 5 ministerial level topics.
The main research directions of Dr. Nguyen Huu Loc are mechanical design of machines and machine parts, including: modeling, simulation and optimal design; reliability design; design of machine parts and machine body; optimization of technological process parameters and technical parameters of machines.
One of the notable achievements of Dr. Nguyen Huu Loc is when he directly directed the CDIO pilot project at Ho Chi Minh City National University for the mechanical engineering, computer and information technology groups.
From this project, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology decided to widely deploy the entire training program according to CDIO from 2014.
CDIO (Conceive - form ideas; Design - implement; Operate - operate) is aneducational methodology proposed by a group of 4 universities, led by MIT (USA) to improve the quality of teaching and learning for engineering majors.
Dr. Nguyen Huu Loc received a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister in 2008. In 2014, he was awarded the title of Excellent Teacher.

Professor Nguyen Huu Loc confided that during his 40 years of studying and working, he realized the extremely important role of self-study. Self-study is the path that helps each person explore knowledge, the world and their own abilities.
He also expressed concerns about the self-study ability of students today when they are too dependent on extra classes.
