Overwhelmed by Nguyen Tien Truyen's surreal designs at Paris Haute Couture

Nguyen Tien Truyen collaborated with Swiss designer Kevin Germanier to create a collection to present at Haute Couture Fashion Week Fall Winter 2025-2026 .

Inspired by the surreal world

Kevin Germanier is known as the "king of color" of French fashion. He has worked with many big names such as Taylor Swift, Sunmi, Björk... Nguyen Tien Truyen said that he and Kevin Germanier met each other through Instagram and had the chance to work together at the Eurovision 2025 music contest.

Germanier took on the role of fashion director, while Nguyen Tien Truyen designed costumes for singer Efendi in the semi-final night and MC Sandra Studer in the final night.

Kevin Germanier was attracted by Nguyen Tien Truyen's rebellious and innovative spirit in handling materials and structures, so he started working on a collection to be shown in France.

The collection includes 27 designs, of which Nguyen Tien Truyen has 12 independent designs. Nguyen Tien Truyen's designs express a surreal, dramatic spirit with a strong personal touch and hand-sewn techniques.

Design inspired by mutant flowers

The design is elaborately and meticulously constructed.

Each design has a different color, expressing Nguyen Tien Truyen's fashion personality.

Nguyen Tien Truyen shared that the collection was inspired by mutant flowers and animals treated from a surreal, magical perspective.

In terms of shape, he uses complex garment structures that require high precision, ensuring a tight fit and precise shape. Nguyen Tien Truyen focuses on visual appeal and manual attachment techniques in each design.

Bringing Vietnamese fashion to France

These 12 designs were created by Nguyen Tien Truyen and his team over two months of continuous work in Vietnam and France. Transporting the costumes from Vietnam to France was also a challenge because they had to ensure the original shape was maintained.

Nguyen Tien Truyen said the highlight is the symbol of the red-crowned crane, a bird that symbolizes longevity and the desire to fly high. This is also the image that helped him win the championship in Project Runway Vietnam season 2.

Kevin Germanier and Nguyen Tien Truyen's collections at Haute Couture Fashion Week received attention from fashion enthusiasts and international media.

"I hope international audiences see that the creativity of Vietnamese designers is not small. We can create things that the world fashion industry is looking for," Nguyen Tien Truyen confided.
