On July 28, General Secretary To Lam visited and chaired a friendly meeting with officers and soldiers of the Internal Political Security Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security tradition day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).

Never lose vigilance about the plots of hostile forces

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam acknowledged, highly appreciated and commended the achievements and results that the Internal Political Security Department and the Internal Political Security force have achieved in recent times.

The General Secretary noted that the world and regional situation is moving very quickly and is difficult to predict. In the country, operating two-level local governments and implementing strategic policies with many new, breakthrough and unprecedented issues, on the one hand, creates new impetus for development, on the other hand, all kinds of subjects will thoroughly take advantage to oppose the Party and the State.

The General Secretary made it clear that we have never lost our vigilance against the plots of hostile and reactionary forces seeking every way to overthrow the leadership role of the Party and the socialist regime in Vietnam.

The practice of building and defending the socialist Fatherland shows that solidarity within the Party and internal strength are decisive to the success or failure of the revolution.

Regarding a number of key tasks, General Secretary To Lam emphasized the consensus on the high requirements for protecting the Party, protecting internal political security and the responsibility of the national internal political security force in the current period.

Protecting the Party in the current period is not only protecting the Party's leadership and ruling role, protecting the socialist regime, the Party's ideological foundation, viewpoints, policies and guidelines; territorial sovereignty, borders, seas and islands, and handling national crisis and emergency situations.

Protect revolutionary achievements, repel risks; protect and maintain a peaceful, stable, and favorable environment for development.

Protecting the Party in the current period also means ensuring the building, perfecting and effective implementation of the Constitution and laws.

Successfully implement the Party's guidelines and policies; effectively and efficiently operate two-level local governments, creating new space and momentum for development, and achieving the country's two 100-year goals.

From the awareness of protecting the Party in the new revolutionary period, the General Secretary requested that the internal political security force need to strongly innovate its thinking, methods, and implementation directions to protect internal political security.

In addition to traditional internal political security issues, it is necessary to expand the work of grasping the situation and protecting the implementation of the Party's new strategic policies.

Timely detect problems, difficulties, signs of division and disunity in the operation of two-level local governments, early detection, right from grassroots Party organizations, all emerging signs must be grasped, evaluated, promptly synthesized and reported to the Party and State.

Timely detect manifestations of "group interests", profiteering, and institutional and policy impacts in the process of promoting the development and improvement of laws.

The General Secretary requested to focus on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, protecting internal solidarity and unity, and the close bond between the Party and the people.

Timely orientate correct political ideology, detect and correct distorted perceptions, oppose hostile arguments, and create the basis for unity of thought, action, and will within our entire Party, people, and army.

The General Secretary emphasized that reality shows that at each turning point of the revolution, when the practical situation becomes complicated, if not promptly detected and oriented, the ideology of a large number of people will have negative manifestations.

The task of protecting the Party and protecting internal political security in the coming time is very heavy. The General Secretary believes that by promoting the glorious tradition, with a sense of responsibility, daring to think, daring to do, daring to break through and be creative for the common good, the entire People's Public Security force in general and the internal political security force in particular will excellently fulfill the tasks entrusted by the Party, State and people.
