Want U.23 Indonesia to beat U.23 Vietnam in 90 minutes
In the press conference before the final match, coach Gerald Vanenburg commented: "The U.23 Indonesia team will prepare the best, fight to win the championship. Regarding the situation of the injured players, we will check whether they are ready to compete or not in the last training session. In the last training sessions, they only practiced lightly. They still look fine, but if not, I have to find other options. We will play with the strongest possible squad, focusing on recovery and will prepare a good spirit to win the final match."
When asked about his confidence if he enters the penalty shootout, coach Vanenburg replied: "We want to win in 90 minutes against the U.23 Vietnam team, but of course if we have to face a penalty shootout, it will depend on the players' spirit and luck. We saw in the semi-finals that the players' spirit was extraordinary and we were lucky to win against the U.23 Thailand team, so we will not have to worry about the penalty shootout in the final. We will not practice but we will win if there is a penalty shootout."
"In fact, we will try to win in 90 minutes, but we are not sure that we can do it. We respect that Vietnam are strong opponents, so we will try our best. In terms of scoring, we are having difficulty scoring at the moment, and we only have Jens Raven who can score, and there are some other players besides Jens who can score. But in the next tournament, we will see if we can look for other players, from the Netherlands or Indonesia, to help the team improve their scoring ability," he added.
Coach Vanenburg said the entire U.23 Indonesia team is very determined.

How is coach Vanenburg's health now?
In the semi-final, the U.23 Indonesia team went through 120 tense minutes against Thailand. Coach Vanenburg himself shouted until he lost his voice, so he did not attend the press conference after the match. When asked about the difficulty of shouting and reminding his players in the final, the Dutch strategist replied: "I'm better now. But I think the players are good enough to play without needing too much direction from me on the field. And they probably don't like me reminding them too much (laughs)".
Coach Vanenburg also shared about VAR being applied in the final: "That's great, but actually VAR should be used in previous matches, because there were many situations in previous matches that needed VAR's support."
The final match of the U.23 Southeast Asia will take place at 8pm on July 28 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. In the tournament two years ago, the U.23 Vietnam team defeated the U.23 Indonesia team after a penalty shootout to win the championship in Thailand. At 6pm on July 2, the U.23 Indonesia team will have their last training session before the final match at Madya Stadium.
