Military music exchange between Vietnam and 5 ASEAN countries

(CLO) The highlight of the 2024 Military Music Exchange night is a special concert with the participation of 180 musicians from various countries.

On the evening of December 19, at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Ministry of National Defense held the opening ceremony of the 2024 Military Music Exchange program. This activity is part of a series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.

The 2024 Military Music Exchange Program has the theme “Music connects friendship”. This is an artistic playground, an opportunity to strengthen solidarity and friendship between armed forces of countries, between countries in the region and around the world .

Participating in the Exchange, Vietnam has military bands, including: Army Ceremonial Band, Navy Band, Air Defense - Air Force Band, Military Bands of military regions and corps, and People's Public Security Ceremonial Band.

The exchange also had the participation of international military bands: Royal Cambodian Army, Chinese People's Liberation Army, Lao People's Army, Malaysian Army, Myanmar Army.

The highlight of the exchange night was a special concert with the participation of 180 musicians from various countries performing four works: " Dien Bien Victory", "March to Saigon", "Victory March", "As if Uncle Ho were here on the great victory day".

The performance under the command of Lieutenant Colonel, Meritorious Artist Pham Tuan Long was cheered by the audience with enthusiastic applause.

In the program, the units took turns performing, bringing the audience majestic and proud melodies, performances that combined the cultural identity of the Vietnamese nation as well as the unique mark of each force.

After performing at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the military bands marched through the streets around Thang Long Imperial Citadel and Ba Dinh Square, serving the people and tourists.

The 2024 Military Music Exchange Program takes place over 3 days, with many exciting and diverse activities to introduce the country, people and the Vietnam People's Army to international friends; strengthen cooperation between armies of countries in the region, in the spirit of equality, solidarity and mutual understanding.

The 2024 military music exchange program will close on the evening of December 22 at the Vietnam Military History Museum.
