According to Hoang Ba Hung, Principal of Ha Tinh Specialized High School: Ha Tinh Specialized High School was established in 1991, shortly after the re-establishment of Ha Tinh province, with the mission of identifying and nurturing talented students in high school subjects to contribute to the training of talent for the homeland and the country. Since its establishment, the school has had 1,561 students achieve the title of national excellent student in cultural subjects and 9 students win international awards, including 2 students who won gold medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad, 2 students who won gold medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad, 2 students who won silver medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad, and 1 student who won a bronze medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad... This result has significantly contributed to Ha Tinh consistently ranking in the top 10 nationwide in the number of students participating in and winning national excellent student competitions and ranking 8th nationwide in the number of students winning awards in international and regional Olympiad competitions.

Nghi Xuan High School plays a crucial role in educating and shaping the character of children from the southern coastal communes of Nghi Xuan district. According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, the school's Vice Principal, in addition to teaching literacy, many teachers here also take on the role of mothers and companions for their students.

The majority of people here choose overseas employment as a path to economic development; therefore, some families have not focused on their children's education. This is also the main reason for the lack of determination and effort in studying among many students. Recognizing this difficulty, the school's administration has assigned homeroom teachers to coordinate with school organizations to understand the family circumstances of the students, especially any changes in their psychology, in order to provide timely guidance and support, preventing them from falling into pitfalls.

Ms. Dinh Thi Huong Dieu, Secretary of the Youth Union of Nghi Xuan High School, shared: "Through the 'What I Want to Say' mailbox, we learned that many students harbor dreams of attending university, however, some parents only want their children to finish high school and go abroad for work. Therefore, many students study half-heartedly and show a careless attitude towards life. Some students, having lived away from their parents since childhood, easily get involved in romantic relationships early on... Therefore, career guidance, love counseling, and friendship counseling for high school students are always a priority for the school, with many flexible solutions and methods that yield positive results."

The teachers consistently strive to adopt new methods to improve the quality of teaching and learning, and volunteer to stay committed to their classes and school. As a result, the school's discipline and educational quality have steadily improved. For the past five academic years, Nghi Xuan High School has consistently ranked among the top schools in the province in terms of graduation exam results and university/college entrance exam scores. In particular, in the 2023-2024 academic year, the school had the highest average graduation score and the highest number of students with university entrance exam scores of 28 points or higher in the province.

According to Nguyen Ngoc Le Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh province, the common trait among teachers in Ha Tinh, especially those working in economically disadvantaged areas, is their diligence and their empathy and love for their students, which helps them to support and share with them.

We visited Cao Thang High School, where the students all come from farming families in the mountainous, border region, an area frequently affected by natural disasters. Principal Ho Tien Duong shared that bridging the gap in student intake quality, harmonizing learning abilities, and helping students overcome challenges, especially the high school graduation exam, is a constant concern for the teachers. Driven by this concern, after the school assessed and categorized students, the teachers collaborated to develop and adjust teaching plans and methods for each student group. Subject teachers also took advantage of every opportunity to supplement students' knowledge, from in-person classes to online learning and digital platforms. The school maintained a continuous review process right up to the exam day to create a positive learning atmosphere for all students.
