This is a significant event in the series of activities commemorating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Cuban Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam and the 50th anniversary of Leader Fidel Castro's visit to Vietnam.
Speaking at the book launch, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director and Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House, emphasized that the book "Cuba - Vietnam: Two Nations, One History" can be considered a chronicle of events that quite fully records the important milestones of the close and unwavering relationship between Cuba and Vietnam over the past 60 years, since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1960, from high-level visits and exchanges to bilateral cooperation in many fields. The book also has a rich system of photographic documents, thereby demonstrating the strong and close fraternal friendship between the two nations, despite being geographically separated by half the globe, both during war and in peacetime...
“The book, upon its release, is seen as a spiritual gift from the National Political Publishing House to our Cuban brothers and sisters, as well as to the generations of Vietnamese and Cuban people who have made significant contributions to building, maintaining, and developing this special bilateral relationship of solidarity and friendship; it also provides materials for readers of both countries to better understand and appreciate the shared history between the two nations that generations of our ancestors have painstakingly cultivated,” affirmed Associate Professor Dr. Vu Trong Lam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam Orlando Nicolás Guilén also affirmed that the book, which records the most important events in Vietnam-Cuba relations, was researched and written by Dr. Ruvislei González Saez with great time, with the desire to pass on the spirit of this good relationship to the younger generation of both countries.
Sharing online from Cuba, Dr. Ruvislei González Saez expressed his gratitude for the close cooperation between the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department and the National Political Publishing House, and for the enthusiastic and responsible participation of reputable experts and translators from the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department, the Vietnam News Agency, and Hanoi University in publishing his heartfelt book on this occasion.
The publication of the book "Cuba - Vietnam: Two Peoples, One History," along with other publications on the Vietnam-Cuba friendship, contributes to strengthening, further nurturing, and developing the traditional friendship that has been fostered by generations of Party and State leaders and people of both countries. At the same time, it opens up prospects for increasingly close and profound cooperation in book publishing and distribution, as well as cultural exchange activities between the two countries in general, and between the National Political Publishing House and organizations and agencies in Cuba and Latin American countries in particular.
