Businesses from Kien Giang participated in the "PhuQuoc - New Destination of the World" event in Cambodia.
On the afternoon of May 8th, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich, Vice President of the Kien Giang Tourism Association, stated that at the "Phu Quoc - New Destination of the World" event held that same afternoon in Phnom Penh (Cambodia) , the association introduced the image, people, entertainment services, unique tourism products, new products of Phu Quoc City, and visa exemption policies to Cambodian partners.
"By participating in this event, the Association hopes to connect directly with travel partners in Cambodia, update service information to partners in order to strengthen cooperative relationships and bring Cambodian tourists to Kien Giang in general and Phu Quoc in particular…," Ms. Dieu said.
According to tourism businesses in Phu Quoc, Cambodian tourists quite enjoy visiting Phu Quoc and represent a segment with relatively high spending power. Typically, on weekends, many groups of 20 to 60 Cambodian tourists (traveling independently) cross the Ha Tien international border gate and take speedboats to Phu Quoc for tourism.
Therefore, connecting travel partners and service providers from Kien Giang and Cambodia at this event will open up opportunities to attract potential international tourists from this tourism market, especially during the summer of 2024.
According to the Kien Giang Department of Tourism, in 2023, Kien Giang welcomed over 20,000 Cambodian tourists for sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation. In the first four months of 2024 alone, Kien Giang received nearly 10,000 Cambodian tourists...
