"Keep the fire" in students

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - A healthy university and college educational environment is not only measured by the quality of training, scientific research achievements or the rate of graduates with jobs, but is also affirmed in the spiritual and physical life of learners. Therefore, the Youth Union and Student Association at all levels have always focused on taking care of the spiritual and physical life of students through many creative and practical activities. Thereby, contributing to forming a positive and confident lifestyle and thinking for students, building a generation of dynamic, brave and comprehensively developed students.

For many years, Hong Duc University has always maintained and developed clubs, teams, and groups according to interests and strengths, creating a healthy playground for students. Currently, the whole school has 20 clubs such as: English, Future Entrepreneurs, Guitar, HDU Dance, martial arts, sports ..., attracting more than 500 students to participate. This is not only a place to practice skills, promote strengths, improve spiritual life but also contributes to forming a positive lifestyle, connecting students.

The school and faculties have organized many forums and competitions associated with major holidays of the country, the province and the school. Specifically: Talented and elegant students, Art performances, Excellent Youth Union Secretary, Talented MC, Pedagogical training, UniTour series of activities... Sports activities are also organized regularly with many football, volleyball, and athletics tournaments for Vietnamese and Lao students, students in dormitories, contributing to health training, spreading the movement "Healthy to study, work, and contribute".

At the same time, the school focuses on skills education and communication on reproductive health care, gender, HIV/AIDS prevention; propaganda on the harmful effects of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. Youth volunteer movements are widely launched such as the summer youth volunteer campaign with specific and practical activities, such as: concreting rural roads, organizing summer activities for children, giving gifts to families with preferential policies, supporting poor students; volunteer teaching activities for SOS Children's Village; humanitarian blood donation activities "HDU Red Drops".

Pham Doan Nhat Anh, a fourth-year student of the Foreign Languages ​​Department, shared: “Participating in competitions, cultural and sports activities makes me happier and more active. Not only that, through these activities, I can practice many skills, discover my strengths, live more optimistically and have clearer goals.”

Secretary of the Hong Duc University Youth Union, Truong Ngoc Binh emphasized: “With the goal of moving towards truth - goodness - beauty, helping students develop themselves, the school's Youth Union has implemented many useful activities, helping students not only improve their spiritual and physical life but also reduce social evils, creating connections with teachers and friends. At the same time, helping students have more motivation to study, practice, confidently integrate and contribute to their homeland and country”.

Not only Hong Duc University, but also universities and colleges in the province always pay attention to effectively implementing the work of accompanying students in developing skills, improving physical fitness, and cultural and spiritual life. In the past school year, the work of caring for the spiritual and physical life of students continued to be implemented synchronously and effectively by Thanh Hoa Youth Union chapters at all levels, becoming an important highlight in the school youth movement. Youth Union chapters at all levels have proactively maintained many models and clubs to practice skills, physical fitness, and talents. Thereby, students have an environment to develop themselves, practice social practice skills, and at the same time form a healthy and positive lifestyle...

Cultural and sports activities for students were actively responded to and participated in by colleges and universities, such as: The student volleyball tournament to celebrate the anniversary of students' day attracted a large number of students from 4 universities and colleges. The contest "Talented and elegant students in 2025" on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Union, attracted more than 200 contestants and more than 20,000 interested and interactive views on the information channels of the Union. This is not only a useful playground but also an opportunity to honor the intelligence, bravery and beauty of school youth.

Last school year, the province held 460 cultural and artistic activities; 250 football, volleyball and sports tournaments with the participation of more than 86,000 cadres, union members and young people. At the same time, 290 models and solutions to support disadvantaged youth were deployed. Propaganda work to prevent and combat the harmful effects of alcohol, beer, tobacco and stimulants continued to be promoted, helping students form healthy living habits. These activities have contributed to enriching spiritual life, improving health and arousing solidarity among students.

With the attention and support of the school’s youth union and the whole society, the spiritual and physical life of students has been and is being cared for. Students not only have a useful and healthy playground, improve their spiritual and physical life, but are also equipped with life skills and nurtured with ideals. These things will become the “fire” that helps the young generation confidently step into the future with a steady mindset and a desire to contribute.
