Students from Hong Duc University participate in the Student Talent and Elegance Contest.
For many years, Hong Duc University has maintained and developed clubs, teams, and groups based on students' interests and talents, creating a healthy environment for them. Currently, the university has 20 clubs such as English, Future Entrepreneurs, Guitar, HDU Dance, martial arts, sports , etc., attracting more than 500 students. These clubs not only provide opportunities to hone skills, develop talents, and enhance mental well-being, but also contribute to fostering a positive lifestyle and strengthening student bonds.
The university's Youth Union and faculties have organized numerous forums and competitions linked to major national, provincial, and university holidays. Specifically, these include: the "Talented and Elegant Student" competition, the "Arts and Culture Festival," the "Outstanding Youth Union Secretary" competition, the "Talented Presenter" competition, pedagogical training, and the UniTour series of activities. Sports activities are also regularly organized, with many football, volleyball, and athletics tournaments for Vietnamese and Lao students, as well as dormitory students, contributing to health training and spreading the "Healthy to study, work, and contribute" movement.
Simultaneously, the school focuses on educating and communicating about reproductive health, gender issues, and HIV/AIDS prevention; and raising awareness about the harmful effects of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. Volunteer youth movements are widely launched, such as the summer volunteer campaign with specific and practical activities, including: concreting rural roads, organizing summer activities for children, giving gifts to families receiving preferential treatment, and supporting poor students; volunteering to teach at SOS Children's Villages; and the "HDU Blood Donation" humanitarian blood donation campaign.
Pham Doan Nhat Anh, a fourth-year student in the Faculty of Foreign Languages, shared: “Participating in competitions and cultural and sports activities has made me happier and more lively. Not only that, through these activities I have honed many skills, discovered my strengths, become more optimistic, and have clearer goals.”
The Secretary of the Youth Union of Hong Duc University, Truong Ngoc Binh, emphasized: “With the goal of striving towards truth, goodness, and beauty, and helping students develop themselves, the Youth Union has implemented many beneficial activities, helping students not only improve their spiritual and physical lives but also reduce social evils and create bonds with teachers and friends. At the same time, it helps students gain more motivation to study, train, confidently integrate, and contribute to their homeland and country.”
Not only Hong Duc University, but also universities and colleges in the province have always paid attention to effectively supporting students in developing skills, improving physical fitness, and enhancing cultural and spiritual life. In the past academic year, the work of caring for the spiritual and physical well-being of students continued to be implemented comprehensively and effectively by the Thanh Hoa Youth Union at all levels, becoming an important highlight in the school youth movement. The Youth Union at all levels proactively maintained many models and clubs for skill development, physical training, and talent development. Through these, students have an environment to develop themselves, hone practical social skills, and form a healthy and positive lifestyle...
Cultural and sports activities for students were enthusiastically supported and actively participated in by colleges and universities, such as: the student volleyball tournament to celebrate Student Day, which attracted a large number of students from four universities and colleges. The "Talented and Elegant Student 2025" competition, commemorating the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Youth Union, attracted over 200 contestants and more than 20,000 views and interactions on the Youth Union's information channels. This was not only a beneficial playground but also an opportunity to honor the intelligence, courage, and beauty of young students.
During the past academic year, the province organized 460 cultural and artistic activities; 250 football and volleyball tournaments and sports events with over 86,000 participants including officials, union members, and young people. Simultaneously, 290 models and solutions to support disadvantaged youth were implemented. The campaign to raise awareness about the harmful effects of alcohol, tobacco, and stimulants continued to be intensified, helping students develop healthy lifestyle habits. These activities have contributed to enriching students' spiritual lives, improving their health, and fostering a spirit of solidarity among students.
Thanks to the care and support of student organizations and associations in schools, as well as from society as a whole, the spiritual and physical well-being of students has been and continues to be a priority. Students not only have access to beneficial and healthy recreational activities that enhance their mental and physical health, but they are also equipped with life skills and nurtured with ideals. These things will become the "flame" that helps the younger generation confidently step into the future with a firm mindset and a desire to contribute.
