For me, Ha Giang Newspaper is not just a workplace but a professional home, a place that preserves beautiful memories of a time when I worked in journalism under difficult and challenging conditions, but with great dedication and camaraderie.

I started working at Ha Giang Newspaper in 1996. At that time, newspaper production techniques were still manual, staff and reporters had to take on many tasks, and equipment was outdated. But it was in these difficult times that the editorial team worked together, overcoming challenges and standing side by side to ensure that each issue was published on schedule and with quality, bringing the breath of life from all over Ha Giang's countryside to readers near and far. From articles reflecting the lives of the people in the highlands to important political topics, we always put responsibility first.

I have been fortunate to witness the growth of Ha Giang Newspaper through each stage. From a newspaper printed once a week to several issues a week, and now five issues a week; from black and white to color; from traditional print to online and social media, and especially, the newspaper has developed strongly on digital platforms.

Prior to the merger of Ha Giang Newspaper with Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television Station, I believed that the journalistic teams of the two provinces would together create a new, strong, and professional newspaper, better fulfilling the propaganda mission in the new era.

However, what I, and perhaps many generations of staff, reporters, and editors of Ha Giang Newspaper, have always hoped for is that the journalistic identity of Ha Giang, the unique voice of this border region, will be preserved and promoted. Stories about ethnic minorities, about the fight against poverty, socio-economic development, and about the resilient people of Ha Giang... need to continue to have their rightful place in the future of media coverage.

Even though the newspaper named "Ha Giang Newspaper" is about to close down, and despite changes in its organization, the affection for our "common home" Ha Giang Newspaper remains unchanged.
