In addition to conducting awareness campaigns for people fishing at sea, the Song Doc Town Police also coordinated with the Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station to disseminate information and guide 69 households living and raising aquatic products on Hon Chuoi Island on legal regulations concerning the sea and islands, issues related to marine environmental protection, and national security in the area surrounding the island.
Major Tran Van Dao, Deputy Commander of Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station, said: “Currently, the station's management of the Hon Chuoi island area and neighboring islands is relatively extensive, and we face many difficulties in disseminating information and mobilizing the people: the people mainly engage in fishing and aquaculture activities, so they don't have much time, and the means for disseminating information are not as diverse or complete as on the mainland. In recent years, recognizing these difficulties, the Border Guard Station Command has flexibly organized visits and encouraged the people on the island, thereby disseminating information about regulations and simultaneously creating billboards, posters, and slogans to improve the effectiveness of this activity. Furthermore, in recent times, the People's Committee and the Police of Song Doc town have also shown great interest and regularly coordinated with the station to visit and encourage the people on the island, especially during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year). As a result, the security and order situation at sea has improved.” "Stability and national security are increasingly being maintained."
The police of Song Doc town are conducting awareness campaigns for residents on Hon Chuoi island.
Thanks to the efforts of the Song Doc Town Police, the attention and assistance of the Town Party Committee and People's Committee, the coordination of functional agencies in the area, and the determination of the people to uphold national sovereignty at sea, national security and social order in the area have been maintained and are becoming increasingly stable.
