On the afternoon of November 24th, the Party Committee of the Ca Mau Provincial Border Guard Command held its year-end Party Committee meeting for 2025. Colonel Pham Minh Giang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard Command, presided over the meeting. Representatives from the Party Committees of communes and wards in the coastal border area also attended.

In 2025, the Party Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Command will focus on leading and directing the effective implementation of military, national defense, and border defense tasks; combating crime, maintaining political security and social order, and firmly protecting the sovereignty and security of the maritime border. Units will strictly implement measures to combat IUU (Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated) fishing; strengthen patrols and control of people and vehicles operating at sea; build regular, strong, and comprehensive units; and successfully organize Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.
Colonel Pham Minh Giang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard Command, delivered the concluding remarks at the conference.
During the year, the provincial Border Guard Command mobilized forces and resources to rescue 67 crew members adrift at sea; coordinated efforts to mitigate the consequences of natural disasters and fires; successfully investigated two human trafficking cases, rescuing two victims; arrested 16 cases/28 drug traffickers; and handled 115 cases/133 administrative violations with a total fine of over 4 billion VND. Anti-IUU fishing awareness campaigns reached 365 sessions/5,300 vessels/14,725 crew members. The fishing vessel monitoring system operated 24/7, detecting and reminding 630 vessels showing signs of crossing the boundary; and calling 13 fishing vessels to return to Vietnamese waters.
Comrade Tran Thanh Nhanh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of U Minh commune, delivered a speech at the conference.
The conference also provided feedback on the draft Resolution on leadership tasks for border defense work in 2026 and the Regulations on coordination between the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee and the Party Committees of coastal border communes and wards.
The Party Committee and the Command of the Provincial Border Guard Force have directed units to intensify efforts to combat IUU (Illustrative Image) fishing.
Concluding the conference, Colonel Pham Minh Giang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard Command, requested that units continue to thoroughly understand and strictly implement resolutions and directives from higher levels; proactively advise the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on border management and protection; promptly handle emerging incidents, avoiding passivity and surprises. At the same time, resolutely prevent fishing vessels from violating foreign waters; and effectively implement the Project "Building a people's border defense system and a people's border defense posture linked with the people's national defense and people's security" in the coastal border area.
