The opening ceremony program for the 2024-2025 school year, held on the morning of September 5th (Thursday), at schools in Hanoi includes the following:

From 7:00 to 7:30: Students gather and welcome new students.

7:30 to 8:30 AM: Flag-raising ceremony and singing of the national anthem. All delegates, officials, teachers, and students attending the flag-raising ceremony will sing the national anthem; pre-recorded sheet music with lyrics will not be used.

Statement of purpose, introduction of delegates; Reading of the President 's letter to officials, teachers, staff, and students on the occasion of the opening of the school year;

The school principal declared the new school year open;

The school year begins with a drumbeat.

Organize group activities (arts, sports , games, etc.).

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the opening ceremony should be organized in a concise manner, with students at the center, focusing on welcoming students entering the first grade, ensuring it truly becomes a celebratory school opening day for students.

For preschools, the opening ceremony should be organized in the form of a "Children's Back-to-School Day" in a flexible and creative manner, with content suitable to the psychological and physiological characteristics of children, aiming to create a positive impression, ensure the safety and health of children, and protect the environment on the first day of the new school year. The maximum duration of the event is 60 minutes. The time for receiving children and the organization of the ceremony will be determined and directed by the Department of Education and Training to the preschools to suit the children.

Educational institutions should stabilize and maintain learning routines immediately after the Opening Ceremony, guide the organization of back-to-school activities appropriate to the students' age, suitable to the school's conditions, and linked to local realities; focus on building school culture, and ensure school security and safety from the very first days of the school year.
