Last week, after Apple officially launched the iPhone 17 series, the company also introduced some attractive accessories for the new product line. The highlight of these is the "cross-strap" accessory that allows users to wear the phone around their neck like a fanny pack. Notably, this strap model costs nearly 1.7 million VND on the Apple Store Vietnam page.

While people are still reacting to the expensive iPhone 17 crossbody strap, Google has shown interest in the idea with the launch of a new accessory called Rope Wristlet. It is a simple accessory designed to keep the phone secure. The product consists of a polyester rope and a D-shaped pad to protect the phone from falling. Unlike Apple's crossbody strap, Google's version is more compact and can be worn on the wrist.

But there is one difference with Google's strap: the price. While Apple's crossbody strap feels premium with its recycled materials, magnetic clasp, and retail price of nearly 1.7 million VND, Google only asks users to pay about 7 USD (about 185,000 VND).
Google's product comes in three colors: Black/Gray, Blue/Purple, and Green/ Yellow, and is designed to work with most phones with cases, not just Pixel phones. The Rope Wristlet isn't available for purchase yet, but you can sign up to be notified when it's available.
Both Apple and Google recognize that consumers are looking for ways to keep their phones safe. Whether it’s to prevent falls or to provide quick access to the device, a simple strap can be a useful tool. It’s interesting that Google has chosen this time to introduce its product, especially since the Pixel 10 line was just announced and is priced much cheaper than its Apple rival.
