After 6 months of urgent construction, the new spacious house of Mr. Vo Van Trung's family (born in 1979) in the resettlement area in Truong Tho village, Hai Thai commune, Gio Linh district has been basically completed.

It is known that the former house of Mr. Trung and his wife was located in the planned land for the construction of the North-South expressway in the East, Van Ninh - Cam Lo section.

Since March 2024, with the propaganda and mobilization of local authorities, his family has agreed to receive compensation for site clearance and relocate to the resettlement area.

“Having a new, spacious place to live, close to the commune center, convenient for the children to go to school like this, my husband and I feel very happy.

In particular, we are even happier that our family's agreement to relocate to a new residence has contributed to speeding up the progress of key projects of the province and the country," said Mr. Trung.

Not only Mr. Trung's family, many households have built new houses and stabilized their lives in 2 resettlement areas in Hai Thai commune.

According to Chairman of Hai Thai Commune People's Committee Hoang Doan, up to now, the site clearance work in the commune has been 100% completed. To achieve this result, in addition to the strong and decisive participation of the entire political system in propaganda and mobilization work; grasping the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of the people, the awareness of good compliance with the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State of each household also plays a very important role.

“We have mobilized the participation of the entire political system, promoted the role of socio-political organizations and prestigious people in the community, closely followed the grassroots, learned and grasped the thoughts of households, propagated and mobilized in many forms to help people raise their sense of responsibility, for the benefit of the locality and the community.

As for households with legitimate concerns and aspirations, the commune leaders have proposed to the superiors for early consideration and resolution. Thanks to that, the site clearance work for the project has been carried out smoothly. After completion, the North-South expressway project, Van Ninh - Cam Lo section passing through the area will contribute to promoting the local socio-economic development, changing the rural face of the commune.

Through this, the commune has also drawn lessons in propaganda and mobilization work to be able to do better in the future, when other key projects and works come through," Mr. Doan affirmed.

In recent years, Gio Linh district is one of the localities where many key projects and works have been implemented such as: North - South Expressway in the East, Van Ninh - Cam Lo section; Quang Tri Airport; Dong Ha City Eastern Bypass Project; Coastal Road connecting the East - West Economic Corridor; Tourism infrastructure development project to support comprehensive growth in the Greater Mekong Subregion, North - South Expressway...

Information from Gio Linh district said that the site clearance work for key projects up to now has achieved important results.

At the North-South Expressway project in the East, the Van Ninh - Cam Lo section has completed site clearance and handed over the clean site to the construction unit. The Quang Tri Airport project has a total area of ​​265 hectares, of which about 180 hectares have been cleared and 140 hectares have been handed over to the investor.

The construction is being carried out on schedule by the units. The Eastern Bypass Road project of Dong Ha City is about 13 km long, 12 km has been handed over so far, the district is focusing on removing obstacles for about 1 km to soon hand over to the investor.

Regarding the 13 km long coastal road connecting the East-West Economic Corridor, the district has cleared and handed over about 6.5 km. Talking to reporters, Chairman of Gio Linh District People's Committee Vo Dac Hoa said that the consensus of the people has contributed to speeding up the progress of clearance of key projects.

In the past time, in order to effectively carry out the land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement work, the district council has developed plans and options for each specific project; assigned tasks to members and specialized units in accordance with their responsibilities and tasks to achieve high work efficiency.

Local authorities have raised their sense of responsibility in managing and implementing compensation for site clearance in the area; mobilized the strength of political and social organizations and communities to participate in propaganda work and mobilize people's consensus.

“The leadership and direction of land acquisition and clearance for projects in the area are always closely directed by the district, in which propaganda and mobilization work is given top priority with the participation of the entire political system. To promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles, the District People's Committee has requested relevant units to regularly update the progress of land acquisition and clearance. Focus on promoting propaganda and mobilization, organizing direct dialogue with people to resolve problems arising at the grassroots level. In addition, fully implement compensation policies to support people in the project area,” said Mr. Hoa.

According to Mr. Hoa, in the coming time, Gio Linh district will continue to focus on leadership, direction, promote propaganda, mobilize and persuade people to properly implement relevant regulations in site clearance work, contributing to speeding up the progress of key projects and works. When key projects of the province and the country are completed, it will contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of Gio Linh district.
