The opening of the Group Mart supermarket in Quang Trung ward, Thai Binh city, has attracted hundreds of customers who came to visit and shop.

Producing products and delivering them to consumers through the supply chain is crucial for the development of manufacturing businesses. Building a supply chain independently is difficult for businesses, requiring significant financial resources, time, expertise, and manpower. If the supply chain is inefficient, product inventory will immediately increase, causing even greater losses for agricultural sectors.

Despite the aforementioned challenges, thanks to correctly identifying the direction and understanding the characteristics of each locality, the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) program is currently developing strongly. In addition to distributing traditional products like other retail channels, Group Mart supermarket is now developing a business plan to distribute OCOP products according to the characteristics of each locality and simultaneously distributing OCOP items based on the consumer needs of people in each region, in line with consumer culture. With the desire to connect OCOP products to consumers through its retail network, Group Mart supermarket has expanded its branch in Thai Binh city, contributing to opening up opportunities for agricultural development towards increasing the value of agricultural products.

Currently, the Group Mart supermarket chain is selling OCOP products with 3-5 stars from many localities inside and outside the province, such as: Thai Binh province with Nguyen village rice cakes, Quynh Coi rice crackers, various types of rice, beans, peas, fish sauce, and seafood; the Northwest provinces with upland rice, dried meat, and spices; the Central Highlands provinces with various types of nuts and dried fruits; and the Southwest provinces with various types of sugar, confectionery, etc. On its opening day, the Group Mart supermarket in Thai Binh city welcomed hundreds of customers to visit and shop.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thai Binh, Chairman of the Institute of AI Applications and Digital Commerce, and co-founder of Group Mart supermarket, shared: "As a native of Thai Binh province with a passion for agriculture, after a long time, utilizing all available resources to understand the market and the benefits of OCOP products, I decided to connect these products from producers to consumers in Thai Binh province in particular and consumers nationwide in general through the Group Mart supermarket chain. My wish is to accompany OCOP product producers in Thai Binh province in promoting, enhancing their brands, and boosting the consumption of agricultural products, giving them the opportunity to reach more consumers nationwide and supporting them in finding export opportunities abroad."

At the same time, Group Mart is continuously monitoring consumption and listening to consumer feedback to further select products, gradually becoming a major distribution channel for OCOP products nationwide.

Previously, local products were mostly known only within a limited area and consumed at a modest level. Now, many products, after being ranked as OCOP products, have become known to consumers and are gradually establishing their position in the market. However, making consumers aware of OCOP products from different regions is not a simple matter.

Therefore, not stopping at retail, Group Mart is always building long-term plans to expand its consumer market towards export, while gradually improving the trade promotion and consumption of its products by bringing OCOP products from all over the country onto the e-commerce platform vncop.vn with the goal of easily promoting and introducing products to potential international partners. According to Mr. Nguyen Thai Binh, for OCOP products to find export opportunities more strongly, this requires the synchronized and joint efforts of all four parties: the government at all levels in general, distribution businesses, OCOP product producers, and experts.

In the future, Group Mart supermarket will continue to develop business plans for OCOP products by expanding its distribution channels to multiple locations in each locality through franchising, thereby leveraging community strength in the consumption of safe domestic agricultural products and food. Group Mart focuses on linking and supporting OCOP product producers nationwide to consolidate production volume and quality, thereby promoting participation in domestic and international trade fairs and exhibitions to widely promote the value of Vietnamese agricultural products to import and export businesses, with the goal of bringing OCOP products to the international market.
