Manager Pep Guardiola met with and advised center-back Yerry Mina to abandon his unsportsmanlike conduct after Manchester City's 3-0 victory over Everton in the Premier League on May 14th.
After the match at Goodison Park, Guardiola sought out Mina. The Manchester City manager gestured with his hands while speaking to the Everton defender. Guardiola didn't reveal the content of their conversation, but told reporters at the subsequent press conference: "Ask him. Mina did unnecessary things. He always does that to every player, in every game. He's good enough to avoid situations like that."
According to the Daily Mail , Guardiola was furious with Mina's unsportsmanlike conduct. Earlier, the Colombian defender had wrestled with Erling Haaland and clashed with Aymeric Laporte, but did not receive a card.

When asked about the suggestion that Mina frequently commits fouls, Everton manager Sean Dyche quipped: "Guardiola must be very perceptive to see that, since Mina hasn't played for weeks. Every manager has their own way of working."
Man City beat Everton with a brace from Ilkay Gundogan and a goal from Haaland. The German midfielder headed in the visitors' lead in the 37th minute. Just two minutes later, Haaland scored with another header to make it 2-0. Six minutes into the second half, Gundogan scored from a free kick to seal the 3-0 victory.
This is a significant step forward for Man City in the title race. They currently lead the Premier League with 85 points after 35 matches, four points ahead and with a game in hand over second-placed Arsenal. If they beat Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on May 21st, Man City could clinch the title two rounds early.
Man City had the chance to clinch the title early, partly thanks to Arsenal's self-inflicted injury. A few hours after the Everton-Man City match, the Gunners lost 0-3 to Brighton at the Emirates Stadium. This was their second home defeat in the Premier League this season, following a 1-3 loss to Man City in February.
