The Youth Union of An Giang University has meticulously developed the section "Shining from the Classroom - Exemplary Students". Through honoring outstanding students who excel in academics and training, and actively participate in community activities, this section aims to create an inspiring ecosystem. In this ecosystem, each success story and meaningful action becomes a powerful source of motivation, fostering a spirit of striving and dedication in young people.
Tran Trung Quoc, Secretary of the Youth Union of An Giang University, shared with passion: “Each student carries within them a unique story, a unique journey of effort. We believe that when these stories are widely shared, they will become a great source of encouragement, helping other students to have more motivation to overcome difficulties and boldly pursue their dreams. This is also a practical way for the Youth Union to contribute to achieving the goal of comprehensive education , aiming to build a generation of young people who are both politically conscious and professionally competent, as taught by our beloved President Ho Chi Minh.”
The profound value that this section brings also lies in its ability to nurture aspirations and foster a spirit of learning and sharing among union members and students. The articles and videos shared all convey vivid lessons about extraordinary perseverance, burning passion, and tireless dedication. These stories help young people gain more confidence in their own abilities, dare to overcome seemingly insurmountable limitations, and dare to dream big. More importantly, they dare to act to turn their dreams into reality.
Every student can become a role model who "shines from the classroom."
To select and honor these exemplary individuals, the Student Union has developed a specific and rigorous system of criteria, including: outstanding academic and training achievements (high scores, awards in academic competitions and scientific research); active participation in Student Union activities and youth movements (leading role, volunteer spirit, exemplary initiatives and models); good moral character and a beautiful lifestyle (trust of friends and teachers, beautiful actions, inspiring compassion and sharing). It also includes stories of resilience and extraordinary efforts from students facing difficult circumstances.
However, the journey of spreading the message faces many challenges. Tran Trung Quoc frankly shared: “The most difficult thing is finding and spreading truly inspiring stories. Because sometimes students are quite modest and hesitant to share their efforts and achievements. Besides that, maintaining regular interest and interaction from students with the section also requires significant investment.”
To overcome these challenges, the Student Union proactively connects with grassroots student unions and student associations to identify and introduce outstanding individuals. Simultaneously, they flexibly approach students through diverse methods, from direct interviews to creating content in the form of video clips and social media posts. The goal is to make these stories more vivid, relatable, and easily shareable, creating a widespread "inspirational" network throughout the university.
The impact of the "Shining from the Classroom" column is immense. Students are increasingly aware that each person has the potential to become a "shining example" if they continuously strive and improve themselves every day. Studying, conducting scientific research, or participating in social activities not only benefits individuals but also contributes to the development of the university and the community. From the shared stories, a spirit of progress, optimism, and the courage to dream and act are increasingly formed and strengthened in each student. They gradually cultivate a higher sense of responsibility and become more proactive in seeking opportunities for holistic development.
According to Mr. Tran Trung Quoc, in the coming time, the Student Union plans to develop the section by diversifying its forms of expression and expanding its reach. Besides traditional articles, they will promote digital media products such as short videos and podcasts to reach students in a visual and engaging way. At the same time, they will connect with businesses and social organizations to introduce exemplary individuals to the community, contributing to promoting the image of An Giang University students as dynamic and capable.
