Hanoi: Duong Bridge to be closed from 10 PM today.

TPO - This evening, the Hanoi Department of Transport announced a traffic management plan prohibiting all people and vehicles from circulating on Duong Bridge (spanning the Duong River in Gia Lam district). The ban will begin at 10 PM on September 10th.

Specifically, the Hanoi Department of Transport stated that due to the impact of Typhoon No. 3 and the forecast of continued complex weather developments, while water levels on the rivers are continuing to rise, accompanied by heavy rain, there is a risk of endangering people and vehicles crossing the Duong Bridge and the bridges over the river. To ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles crossing the Duong Bridge, the Hanoi Department of Transport has adjusted traffic organization according to a new plan.

Accordingly, from 10 PM on September 10th until further notice, authorities will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from traveling in both directions across the Duong Bridge, from the Long Bien District and Gia Lam District (Hanoi City). During the bridge closure, vehicles needing to cross the Duong Bridge should follow these routes: From Ha Huy Tap Street, follow the route Dang Phuc Thong Street - Provincial Road 179 - Hanoi - Bac Giang Expressway - Phu Dong Bridge - Thanh Tri Bridge and vice versa. From Ha Huy Tap Street, follow the route Dang Phuc Thong Street - Provincial Road 295 - National Highway 18 - Vo Nguyen Giap Street - Nhat Tan Bridge or Thang Long Bridge and vice versa. From Ngo Gia Tu Street, follow the route: National Highway 5 - Ly Son - Dong Tru Bridge - Truong Sa - National Highway 3 or Truong Sa - Hoang Sa to Nhat Tan Bridge or Thang Long Bridge and vice versa. The route from Ngo Gia Tu Street follows National Highway 5 - Ring Road 3 - towards Thanh Tri Bridge or the Hanoi - Bac Giang Expressway. The Hanoi Department of Transport proposes that the Hanoi Traffic Police Department and the Transport Inspectorate deploy forces to guide and direct traffic flow to ensure safety and prevent congestion. They should also monitor and assess traffic conditions on the route and in the area to promptly identify any problems and propose adjustments to traffic organization as needed.
