Hanoi: 'Closing' Duong Bridge from 10pm today

Specifically, the Hanoi Department of Transport said that due to the impact of storm No. 3 and the forecast of complicated weather conditions, while the water level on rivers continues to rise, accompanied by heavy rain, there is a risk of causing insecurity to people and vehicles passing through and river crossing bridges. To ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles traveling through Duong Bridge, the Hanoi Department of Transport has a plan to adjust traffic organization according to a new plan.

Accordingly, starting from 10:00 p.m. on September 10 until further notice, the authorities will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from traveling in both directions through Duong Bridge, from Long Bien District and Gia Lam District (Hanoi City). During the "bridge closure" period, vehicles wishing to travel through Duong Bridge will follow the following directions: From Ha Huy Tap, follow the route Dang Phuc Thong Street - Provincial Road 179 - Hanoi - Bac Giang Expressway - Phu Dong Bridge - Thanh Tri Bridge and vice versa. From Ha Huy Tap, follow the route Dang Phuc Thong Street - Provincial Road 295 - National Highway 18 - Vo Nguyen Giap - Nhat Tan Bridge or Thang Long Bridge and vice versa. From Ngo Gia Tu, follow the route: National Highway 5 - Ly Son - Dong Tru Bridge - Truong Sa - National Highway 3 or Truong Sa - Hoang Sa to go to Nhat Tan Bridge, Thang Long Bridge and vice versa. The direction from Ngo Gia Tu follows the route QL5 - Ring Road 3 - Thanh Tri Bridge or Hanoi - Bac Giang Expressway. Hanoi Department of Transport requests the Hanoi Traffic Police Department - Department of Transport Inspectorate to arrange forces to guide traffic flow for vehicles participating in traffic to ensure safety and avoid congestion. At the same time, monitor and evaluate the traffic situation on the route and area to promptly detect problems and propose appropriate traffic organization adjustments.
