According to a representative of the WinMart supermarket chain, to meet the increased consumer demand during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year), the WinMart/WinMart+/WiN retail system worked with suppliers 2 to 3 months before Tet to increase inventory by 20% compared to the same period last year, preventing shortages or sudden price increases.
The last few months of the year are always considered the "golden time" for the retail market, especially during the Lunar New Year holiday when consumer demand increases significantly.
According to representatives of the WinMart supermarket chain, WinMart/WinMart+/WiN has proactively prepared a diverse supply of goods, ensuring quality and offering the best prices. At WinMart supermarkets and WinMart+/WiN stores nationwide, customers can easily find essential food items such as rice, cooking oil, vegetables, meat, and other popular products during holiday seasons like confectionery and beverages, all available in large quantities on the shelves.
Starting to display Tet goods from December 6th to 12th, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien - Deputy General Director of BRGMart supermarket system, said that the majority of goods for Tet this year are Vietnamese products, accounting for over 80% of the entire system, while imported goods only account for about 20%.
"Vietnamese goods, or 'made in Vietnam' products, currently have good quality, beautiful, diverse, and modern designs. In addition, businesses are also promoting them effectively on various platforms, helping consumers to better recognize and choose to buy them," said a representative from BRGMart.
A representative from BRGMart also added that prices of goods are stable at this time, and even during Tet (Lunar New Year), the supermarket will introduce non-profit product groups such as boxes of cakes, meat, etc., to create appeal and stimulate shopping demand.
Observations at Co.opmart supermarket in Hanoi show that many confectionery, soft drinks, cooking oil, spices, etc., have been stocked on the shelves. Currently, the supermarket is offering promotions on some items.
Notably, Vietnamese goods account for approximately 90% of the Tet holiday merchandise at this supermarket. Local specialties are particularly prominent. A significant increase in purchasing power is predicted in the days leading up to Tet.
In addition to promotional programs, many supermarkets said they are also implementing market stabilization programs, aiming to ensure the supply of essential goods, stabilize prices, and help local people shop with peace of mind during peak season.
A representative from the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade also stated that the Department has instructed retail units to prepare approximately three months before Tet to ensure the supply of goods and the quality of products to serve the people in the city.
"We have also worked with distribution channels, traders, as well as retail businesses and traditional markets to understand the needs and supply sources, and the ability to meet people's demands during Tet."
"This year, we affirm that we have done our job well to ensure there is no shortage of goods and to guarantee quality," said a representative of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade.
