According to statistics from the end of last year, Hanoi still has thousands of resettlement apartments and student housing units that remain unused. Many projects are unfinished or completed but left vacant for years, deteriorating over time. Currently, the city is focusing on reviewing and repairing these projects to ensure they are completed and put into operation as soon as possible.
The N01 high-rise apartment project in the Cau Giay New Urban Area comprises 229 apartments from the resettlement housing fund. Construction began in 2011, but by 2013, only 8 out of 44 items were completed, and work stalled until the end of July last year. The Cau Giay ward authorities have taken over the project and resolved the obstacles. To date, the overall construction is approximately 98% complete, and it is expected to be finished and put into use in June.
Also, since the beginning of this year, at the student housing complex in the Phap Van - Tu Hiep urban area, building A1 has been taken over by the Hanoi Housing Management Center for renovation, repair, and upgrading of buildings A5-6 to become student housing for rent and temporary accommodation. The remaining buildings are also being converted into social housing.
The revival of these projects has been identified by Hanoi city leaders as an urgent task, aimed at quickly providing housing for people eligible for resettlement.
